William Branham (1907-1965) was a Pentecostal minister from Jeffersonville, Indiana credited by some as initiating the Post WWII Healing Revival.
The first of ten children of Charles and Ella Branham, Branham claimed to have been born in Cumberland County, KY and
reared in the booming Southern Indiana casino town directly across the river from Louisville, KY. Mentored under and ordained by
Roy E. Davis
, Imperial Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan, Branham's questionable ministry has been labeled as
destructive by his own campaign managers, associates, and peers.
Step 1: The Basics
If you follow the religious teachings of William Branham and have heard that there are controversies surrounding his ministry and teaching, or if you have been approached by a person who is trying to persuade you into joining "The Message," then you will want to review the basics. The sad truth is that many people in this movement of faith are not aware of the folklore behind the man that they claim to have been sent by God, and do not realize that they are expected to associate this new gospel with their belief system.
Step 2: Easy Questions
It can be overwhelming when you begin your journey out of the Message and into the Truth. One or two issues cannot account for the large number of people who have chosen to leave the following, and for many it seems as though one trail of research into an issue will lead you into a hundred other issues, and those hundred to another. You will find that your journey will become much easier if you focus on the issues that are much easier to understand, especially if you already understand the basics.
Step 3: Dig A Little Deeper
Once you fully understand the purpose behind the deception from the very beginning, and the easy questions have started to make sense to you, then it's time to start digging. If the religion that you are following is based on fiction, and the man you thought to be commissioned by God was not being honest, then you must ask yourself which parts are the truth and which parts are not.
Step 4: Deep Study
After categorizing Branham's teachings as true or false, you will begin to notice that the "false" statements outnumber the "true." And you realize that this was not a simple mistake; the fiction started from the very beginning. There was a purpose behind Branham's misleading statements, and the seeds of deceit seem precisely calculated to distract you from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Step 5: Back to the Bible
There is only one Word of Truth, one Absolute that we can stand upon, and that is the Word of God. After examining the ministry of William Branham and fully understanding the hidden agenda, you won't be surprised to learn that very little of the Bible was actually contained in his recorded sermons. Nor will you be surprised to learn that the the "Bible Stories" Branham taught do not fully align with Scripture. At this point, you should ask yourself, "Did he teach the same Jesus Christ that we find in the Gospels?" The answer will not be so surprising after steps 1 through 4.
