Back To The Bible: King James Only
One of the myths that has arisen after the death of William Marrion Branham is that
the King James Version is the only accurate version of the Bible, and that William
Branham himself only supported the KJV. Branham studied the works of several men,
including Jehovah's Witness founder Charles Taze Russell, Zion City founder John
Alexander Dowie, and more. In fact, an alternate version of the Bible was promoted
throughout his ministry.
Let us read both the King James version and the translation by Dr. Lamsa. To our
gratification we find the words in both amazingly the same so that there is no difference
actually in content or doctrine.
Branham: Church Age Book
Followers of William Branham
also do not realize that William Branham was not of
the King James Only opinion, and that a several of his teachings came from a Gnostic
version of the Bible — mistranslations by a heretical teacher of the Bible. George
Lamsa denied the deity of Christ, and for that reason, his bible translation is
not used by most Christians.
While he strongly opposed and condemned the Catholic Church, Branham mentioned studying
the Vatican Translation. Along with the Vatican Translation, Branham used the Diaglott
(Jehovah's Witness Translation Tool), as well as the Moffatt and Lamsa translation.
I was reading and teaching in my church sometime ago upon Pentecost, in a little
revival I had. Now, I've got an old Emphatic Diaglott of the original Greek translation,
and it's the one — most outstanding things. I'd advise it to any of the clergymen.
Many in the following of William Branham use the King James Version under false
pretenses that it is the same version originally translated by King James. Though
many claim that the King James Version has been unaltered, and is "more accurate"
than the newer translations, it is vastly different than the 1611 version of the
King James Bible. The original translation contained the Apocropha, a set of books
later removed for questionable authenticity. At the same time, many of the mistakes
were corrected. The King James Version we have today is the result of a refinement
process that continued on into the newer translations.
In the preface of the 1611 translation, the King James translators admitted they
did not have a full understanding of the intricacies of the language. As humans,
we are limited to our current understanding, and that understanding was limited
during the time of the translation.
While there is nothing wrong with reading the Elizabethan English of the King James
Version, it is a mistake to falsely assume that the older translation is more accurate
than the new translations. The early translators were also limited in the number
of scrolls available, and those scrolls did not fully match. With the additional
thousands of scrolls unearthed, the newer translations have a better understanding
of which scriptures were included in the original Greek and Hebrew text, and which
verses were added later by Gnostic influence.
Jesus said, "Search the scriptures," which would be those original translations
— not the altered versions. He did not instruct us to "search the older translations
of the scriptures that admittedly had error."
Note some of the differences between the King James Version and Lamsa:
Back To Bible Resources
King James Bible: Jesus says: "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?"
Lamsa Bible: Jesus says: "My God, My God, for this I was spared [kept in some versions]!"
King James Bible: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places.
Lamsa Bible: "For your conflict is not only with flesh and blood, but also with
the angels, and with powers, with the rulers of this world of darkness, and with
the evil spirits under the heaven".
King James Version Bible "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle..."
Lamsa Bible: "It is easier for a rope to go through the eye of a needle"
Luke 14:25 NIV: "If any one comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother,
his wife and children, his brothers and sisters, yes even his own life, he can not
be My disciple".
Lamsa Bible: "He who comes to Me and does not put aside his father and his mother
and his brothers and his sisters and his wife and his children and even his own
life can not be a disciple to me".
The most disturbing thing about the Lamsa Bible is that George Lamsa allows his
theology and opinions to influence his translation. For example, he does not believe
that people live after death, so he inserts the word "death" in places the original
writer used "sleep" (1 Cor. 15:6,18,20).
Lamsa denied the deity of Christ:
King James Bible: Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither
beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a
Lamsa Bible: Neither his father or mother is recorded in the genealogies; and neither
the beginning of his days nor the end of his life; but, like the Son of God, his
priesthood abides forever.
Branham's descriptions of his Bible Study
I have been thinking today, that they misnamed Chicago being, "Windy City." I think
it should have been Tulsa. I could hardly sleep last night; the wind was so hard.
And I thought, "Many times have I been in Chicago, but never such a wind, as I — we
had last evening." And then the service, it was so hard, the wind blowing and making
a noise. It was rather a bit of confusion. But it all paid up today, to get to meet
some precious people. I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Lamsa, today, the translator
of the Lamsa translation of the Bible. And such a privilege... You know, I would
rather you'd give me a little rosebud, right now, than a whole wreath after I'm
gone. I think maybe he'd think the same thing. I certainly can prescribe to his
translation, for meeting him and finding such a lovely spirit of a real true Christian
believer. God bless his gallant soul. I don't know as I've ever met any more spiritual
man than Dr. Lamsa. May the Lord richly bless him.
A few days ago, talking to the great Doctor Lamsa, who translated the Bible from
the Aramaic unto English... And I seen that little sign, God's sign on there, with
three little dots in it. I said, "Doctor Lamsa, what is that?" He said, "It's God,
with three attributes." And I said, "You mean, God living in three offices, such
as, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost?" He raised and looked at me, tears come in that
Jew's eyes; he said, "Do you believe that, Brother Branham?" I said, "With all that's
in my heart." He throwed his arms around me and said, "I wondered when I seen that
great things going forth, and the signs that you were doing." Said that, "They told
me you was a prophet. I didn't believe it till now. Now, I know you are." He said,
"That's it. That's the message. That's the thing that'll shake the Kingdom of God."
Yes. He said, "Someday you'll die for it, boy." Said, "You'll seal your testimony
with that very same thing."
It went around the world, way up in Canada and around. They said, "A mystic Light
appears over a local Baptist minister while he's baptizing." A few days ago when
Doctor Lamsa come to me, and never knowed nothing about that, and brought me a picture,
which brother's got it there with him now... Have you got that picture? Have you
got the Bible with you, laying there; it was in your book? All right. There was
a picture of the old ancient Hebrew sign of God, just exactly that that existed
in the days of Job, before the Bible was ever wrote. God in His three attributes,
not three gods; one God in three attributes, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three
offices that God worked into. Not three gods, three attributes. And there It was.
When that great man, Doctor Lamsa, the translation of the Lamsa Bible, when he said
that morning when I told him that, I said — I said, "What's that sign?" He said,
"That's God's ancient sign in the Hebrew: God, one God in three attributes." I said,
"Such as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost?" He stopped, and he set his cup of coffee
down; he looked at me. Gene, believe you was there, Leo. Said, "You believe that?"
I said, "With all my heart." He said, "Last night, standing in your meeting, Brother
Branham, I seen that discernment. I've never seen it before in America, or in my
land." He said, "These American people don't even know the Bible. Only thing they
know is their denomination. They don't even know where they're standing." Said,
"They don't know nothing." He said, "But when I stood there last night," I said — I
said... Now, Brother Gene, I just say this with reverence and love and such; He
said, "I said, 'That must be a prophet.' But when I see that you believe that Father,
Son, and Holy Ghost was no three gods, it was attributes, then I know that you are
a prophet of God, or it wouldn't be revealed to you like that." He said, "That's
a perfect sign." Said, "I've never..." Said, "You're not Oneness?" I said, "No,
sir. I am not the Oneness. I believe in God being the Almighty God, and the three
attributes are only three offices that the one God lived in." He said, "Bless your
heart." He said, "Someday you'll pour your blood upon the earth for that," but said,
"prophets always die for their cause." And I said, "So let it be, if it pleases
my Lord." The translation of the Lamsa Bible...
There's a time when the — when the writer, when I told the writer of the Lamsa — Lamsa — Lamsa
Bible, when he looked and seen that ancient sign of God, just exactly that exactly,
three little dots in it, I said, "What's those?" He said, "That's God in three attributes."
I said, "Such as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost?" He looked at me; he said, "Do you
believe that?" And I said, "Yes, sir." He said, "I seen that discernment the other
night; I thought you was a prophet of the Lord." Said, "God bless your heart." Put
his arm around me, said, "Now, I know it is." He said, "These American people don't
even know what..." Said, "They don't even know nothing." Said, "They're trying to
take an ea — eastern Book and make a western Book out of It. They don't even know
their Bible. He said, "There's no other Name given under heaven, no other Name,
for everybody was ever baptized other than in the Name of Jesus Christ. There's
no such a thing as three persons in one God." And if that isn't Brother Lamsa, Doctor
Lamsa, the translator of the Lamsa Bible, which is a bosom friend to Eisenhower
and all the great diplomats of the world, and everything else, throwed his arms
around me, said, "Someday they'll shoot you for that." But said, "Remember, all
those people die for a cause."
The other night when I met Dr. Lamsa, of the Lamsa Bible, he said, "What's the matter
with these American people?" Said, "I don't know." Seventy percent of the Bible
is vision, yet they can't believe. See? This is just like it was in Samaria: two
races of people. I'm Irish; she's African. We meet here for the first time in a
little panoramic, two men. In them days there was a segregation. Jesus let her know
right quick there was no difference between a man's color before God. We all come
from one family: Adam and Eve. The country we lived in to and changed our colors — yellow,
brown, black, white — has nothing to do with God. We can give each other a blood
transfusion. One blood, man — God made all men. You believe that? Yes, sir. These...
Where one lived in a hot country and the other a cold country, and — and like that — tempered
and so forth, it changed their colors. That has nothing to do with the blood, or
the soul, or anything else. God let her know that God seeks them that'll worship
Him in spirit and in truth.
Did you ever see the Lamsa translation of the Bible, the old... The — the old Hebrew
sign of — of God is a triangle Light; more or less, something like that, that the
three attributes of God, in one Godhead. And this triangled Light, the three in
One, being one God, was a — a sign to the Hebrew, of God, Light.
I just happened to run across my mind. If any of you have the Lamsa Bible translation,
if you'll notice over the cover of it, is a triune, trinitarian light, a three-cornered
light like a halo. And when Dr. Lamsa, a friend, my personal friend, was translating
the Bible, that is the old Hebrew symbol of God in the true trinitarian way that
He is; not three Gods, but three manifestations of the same God: Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit. The Light is one complete circle of Light in a triangle shape, which
means that God will dwell in three offices, the Fatherhood, Sonship, and Holy Ghost
dispensation, all the same God.
And does anybody know the old Hebrew sign, even before there was a Bible written?
Was a triangle shape, or an oval shape of a cosmic light, exactly right, the Logos.
Now, Doctor Lamsa has that in his Bible, on the cover on the outside.
Now not only is what I have just said true, but let us go a step further. Today
we have some students who claim that the original manuscripts were written in the
Aramaic which was the language of Jesus and the people of His day. It is claimed
by them that the people did not speak and write in the Greek as is so commonly supposed.
And the fact is our historians are divided on that. For example, Dr. Schonfield,
a most brilliant student has from research proved to his satisfaction that the New
Testament was written in the vernacular of the Greek speaking people of that day.
He builds up a fine case for his beliefs, based on the various documents at his
disposal. But on the other hand we have another renowned student, Dr. Lamsa, who
is convinced that the New Testament was written in the Aramaic and he has none other
than the brilliant historian, Toynbee, to back up his contention that the Aramaic,
and NOT THE GREEK was the language of the people, so it seems possible that the
New Testament was first written in the Aramaic. However, before we get too concerned
about this, let us read both the King James version and the translation by Dr. Lamsa.
To our gratification we find the words in both amazingly the same so that there
is no difference actually in content or doctrine. We may even conclude that God
has allowed these newly discovered manuscripts and recent publications of already
known scripts to come before us to prove the authenticity of what we already had.
And we find that though translators may fight each other, scripts do not.
CHURCH AGE BOOK
Now, listen. Let me see — read here before we start the questions on the lexicon
here. Now, from Vatican Translation, Volume 7, 190-1205: "It is difficult to determine
whether it was the voice of those people speaking in a foreign language; or the
report or rumor of the transaction of the supernatural wind rushing that excited
the crowd..." They couldn't understand it. Now, watch. Whether it was the people...
I'll just illustrate. Here's a bunch of poor, ragged Galileans. And here they are
out there in the street. They never seen anything like it: their hands up in the
air, come from that upper room, down them steps, out into there, just filled; they
never spoke yet. See? Here they come down through there. And now, let's say they
was out there staggering around in this. And the people said... A Greek run up to
me and say... I speak Galilean. You run up to me and say, "And what's the matter
with you, boy?" "I've been filled with the Holy Ghost. The power of God fell up
there in that room. Something happened to me. Oh, glory to God." And another one
over here, he was talking to a Arab, and him a Galilean saying Arab — Arab language.
Now, they can't tell, was it the rushing wind that drawed the people together when
the multitude came together, or was it speaking in the foreign language that they
were speaking? Now, the Bible doesn't exactly... You've got two things you can watch.
It was it... The — the outsider said, "How is it that we hear every man in our own
tongue wherein we were born?" It did not say that they were speaking it, but they
were hearing it.
Now, we got some very stiff questions here, and we want to get right into them.
Someone looked at all these books I had. I said, "Well, a smart man only needs one."
But I'm not a smart man. I have to have a lot of them to look into. Well, this is
the "Diaglott," and this is a Bible, and this is a concordance. So it's a... We're
just going to ask the Lord to help us and direct us to answer these questions just
according to His Divine will and His Word.
Now, reading from the "Emphatic Diaglott" of the Greek translation, where I was
at last evening, which is laying open before me now. That's the original translation
from the Greek to the English. It doesn't go through other translators; it's — and
other versions, it's right straight from the Greek to the English. Now, the English
words, many times has such meanings to them, such as I'd say now, "board." Take
that word "board." You'd say, "Well, he meant that we were boring him." No. "Oh,
he — he paid his board." No. Well, he... "It's a board on the side of the house."
Well, see? Or any of those... There's four or five different words could be used;
you have to get the sentence. The word "see." "See" means "to understand," in English.
"Sea" means "a body of water." "See" means "to look at." See? But on these translations,
the word here used that I spoke of last night in Acts the 2nd chapter, where it
says, "Tongues of fire set upon them..." I would like to just go back just a moment.
Would you like to, just a moment, and kinda review it for a moment before we go
I was reading and teaching in my church sometime ago upon Pentecost, in a little
revival I had. Now, I've got an old Emphatic Diaglott of the original Greek translation,
and it's the one — most outstanding things. I'd advise it to any of the clergymen.
It's — it's out of print, but I think you can get in England. I'm not sure. But I
have one; it's very old, and it brings it down just at the original Greek word,
then it comes over on the other side, and just puts it, because in the Greek the
verb is before the adverb. You see? And — and it just turns it around so you can
read it out. But you can just read it right off... If it's one word right down,
just as He said it. And when the Holy Spirit came in the upper room, it said, "There
came a sound as a rushing mighty wind (now, nothing was blowing, it was just like
a sound like it was), and it filled all the house where they were setting, and then,
cloven tongues set upon them, like fire."
Now, the next thing you do, you're starting; you're not in fellowship yet. There's
where, my Baptist brethren, I certainly disagree with you. Yes, sir. Many of them
say, "Well, you receive the Holy Ghost when you believe." And someone asked me a
question, here not long ago, put it on the platform: "Brother Branham, did you ever
read the original? The Greek says that you receive the Holy Ghost when you believe."
I wish you'd bring me that Diaglott. I wish you'd bring me that Greek Lexicon that
says that. It does not say that. It says, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since
you believed?" not, "when you believed," but since you... I've got the Emphatic
Diaglott of the original translation off of the Heb — of the — the — from a — Vatican
City, of the original Greek. Then I've got the Aramaic and many of the others that
proves that he said, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?" They
were believers and Paul said, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since you have believed?"
Now, they had not come into the full fellowship yet. And Paul laid his hands on
them, they received the Holy Ghost, and then the power of God fell on them, and
they spoke in tongues and prophesied: then they were filled and in perfect fellowship
with the rest of the church. That's the only basis.
I said, "It does say that. I've got the "Emphatic Diaglott," and it does say it
in every translation, both Greek and Hebrew. He said, 'Have you received the Holy
Ghost since you believed?'" I said, "Abraham believed; that was true. But God give
him a sign that He'd accepted his faith, by give him the seal of circumcision."
That's right. He'd accepted him, because He give him a sign that He'd accepted him.
If you say you believe, and haven't received the Holy Ghost yet, God hasn't sealed
you yet, hasn't had enough trust to trust you yet. When you come to God, God seals
you with the Holy Ghost till the day of your redemption. And that's the message
of the church. Amen.
60-0911E FIVE DEFINITE IDENTIFICATIONS OF THE TRUE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD
Get your — get your Greek textbook, get your Emphatic Diaglott. Now, find out if
that isn't true, that that is true, that it means "an untamed beast," in Revelation
11, 13, and — and 17. And here in Revelation 4, it means "a living Creature," not
a beast; but it's called "beast" but it isn't. Same thing in Ezekiel 1:8, 1 to :28,
it is. Maybe get to it in a minute. All right, "Untamed, unconverted, wild beast."
Untamed! But these are "living Creatures." What are they? They're not Angels. I
tell you what, let's read in Revelation 5, right across the page. Revelation 5,
and 11th verse: And I beheld, and... heard the voice of many angels ("angels," plural)
around about the throne ("And" is a conjunction.) and the beasts and... elders:...
See, "and," a conjunction. See? They were not Angels, neither were they elders,
they were "living Creatures" at the Throne. Oh, don't you love this? Living Creatures!
They're not Angels, 'cause this proves it right here, see:... I beheld, and... heard
the voice of many angels around about the throne and the beasts and the elders:...
Now, looky here, my sisters, and you brethren who are present: Matthew said, "Father,
Son, Holy Ghost." Now, if you 'all go get the Emphatic Diaglott of the Greek interpretation
(original Greek interpretation from the Vatican. It happens to be that I have one;
it's out of print now, I think), or any Greek translation, the right translation
to Acts 2:38... Peter said, "Repent every one of you and be baptized in the name
of the Lord Jesus Christ." The King James version just said, "in the name of Jesus
Christ."; but in the Emphatic Diaglott it says, "In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ."
Now, when you Oneness brethren just baptize in the name of Jesus, there's just many
Jesuses; but there's only... He was born Christ, the Son of God. That's His name,
that's what He is. "Christ" means "the anointed one." Messiah, Christ. Now, "Jesus,"
eight days later He was given the name Jesus, when He was circumcised. And He is
our Lord. So He is our Lord Jesus Christ. That's what He is. Now, so that you'll
see that Peter had the revelation I'm trying to tell you, now look at these, these
boxes on this side — Father, Son, Holy Ghost. That's what Matthew said. Ten days
later Peter said, "Lord Jesus Christ." Now, see if these three titles isn't three
names, or the one name of the three titles.
Now, you find in the translation there, it said, "Greater than these shall he do,
shall he..." But actually the right translation from it is... I've got the "Emphatic
Diaglott," and it says, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he also,
and more than this shall he do," not greater, 'cause they couldn't do no greater.
He raised the dead, healed the sick, stopped nature. There's nothing could be greater.
But it's not in quality, but in quantity He could do greater.
Now, watch. "The works that I do shall you do also; and more..." I know the King
James says "greater," but if you get the "Emphatic Diaglott"... No one could do
any greater. He raised the dead, stopped nature. More, because then God was in one
Man, Christ Jesus. The Fullness of the Godhead bodily dwelt in Him, the Scripture
says: First Timothy 3:16: "Without controversy great is the mystery of godliness,
for God was manifested in the flesh." He was called Emmanuel. He was only in one
man. But He... When He... This one Man, being the Son of God, gave His Life to sanctify
His Church, that He might return in the form of the Holy Ghost and be in His Church
universally. "The works that I do shall you also (same kind); more than this shall
you do, for I go to My Father," so that He could return back in the form of the
Holy Ghost and be in His Church universal.
Some man said the other day, "It's not that way in the original." I defy that. Go
get the "Emphatic Diaglott" and see if it don't say the same thing, "Have you received
the Holy Ghost since ye believed?" Right here it said, "After you did believe, then
you were sealed with the Holy Ghost of promise." Don't take that lukewarm, bride
out there, come on in here. Come into the...?... and get it. Get on the beam with
Christ, the Holy Spirit. Hear from heaven. "Have you received the Holy Ghost since
you believed?" They said, "We not know — be whether there be any Holy Ghost." Said,
"How was you baptized?" Said, "Unto John, we've been baptized." Said, "That won't
work no more." And he commanded them to be baptized over again in the Name of Jesus
Christ, laid his hands upon them and the Holy Ghost came on them and they spoke
in tongues, and prophesied, and magnified God. After they'd been believing, shouting,
and having a great time, they did not have the Holy Ghost yet. Oh, what did Paul
say? "If an angel from heaven preaches any other Gospel, let him be accursed." 'Cause
Satan can transform himself. But stay with the Word. That's right.
Jesus could only do He said... And the Scriptures are infallible. He said, "I do
nothing within Myself until I see the Father doing it first." Now, He said He saw
it: "See." "Verily, verily I say unto you, the Son can do nothing in Himself, but
what He sees the Father." Look back to the "Emphatic Diaglott"; see if the word
isn't right: "See" Look at it. Even to the Douay version. All the versions give
it the same way. "Till I see the Father do it. The Father worketh. What the Father
does, He shows Me, and I just go and act it out for Him." That's the way every prophet
of the Bible done was to see by a vision what to do. And that was the sign of the
Messiah in that day, and if that's the sign of the Messiah in that day at the closing
of the Jewish dispensation, and He promised He'd do the same thing in the last days,
it's time we see it arise.
Just think, if one woman touched His garment and she — He said, "I perceive that
virtue's gone from me." What would me, a sinner saved by grace, do to me? See? Because
Jesus said, "The works that I do shall you do also, and more than this shall you
do..." I know the King James says, "greater." But it couldn't be greater. It was
more of the works that He could do. Get the original Diaglott, and see if it doesn't
say "more." See? For it's the same Spirit. Now, this lady is a stranger to me also.
I do not know you. But God does know you. If God will reveal to me something that's
your trouble, will you believe me to be His servant? Now, you're aware that something's
happened just then. See? That was that feeling and like sweetness like, quiet. Now,
if that's right, just so the people will know, so that they'll know that I'm not
telling nothing wrong; I seen that Light drop right down over you. That's right.
Now, if you feel just like a real sweet, humble feeling around you, raise up your
hand so the people see it.
I cannot heal you. No, sir, nor nobody else can heal you. It's your own faith that
does it. But if you'll realize that it's the same Jesus. When He was here on earth,
He said, "I do nothing till the Father shows Me." Is that right, amongst the ministers?
Saint John 5:19. Jesus, we'll think, never performed one miracle until God showed
Him, not told Him, but showed Him by a vision, or the Bible told something wrong;
Jesus told a lie. So He couldn't do it; He's God. Jesus said in Saint John 5:19,
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing in Himself, but what He
sees the Father doing, that doeth the Son likewise." See if that's not in your Bible,
King James, or Moffatt, or any translation you want to take. See if it isn't the
same thing. Get the original Greek diaglott if you want to. You'll find the same
thing. "I do nothing until the — I see the Father..." In other words, He acted out
Well, if one vision, one person made the Son of God get weak, what would it do to
me, a sinner saved by His grace? See? Now, when you... Can't take too many, you
know that. You fall right over. And when Jesus said, "Greater things than this you
do," you get the Greek "Emphatic Diaglott" and find out if it ain't right, "more
than this shall you do," instead of greater, more. Couldn't do no greater. But you
could do more of it, 'cause there'd be, "More shall you do." Now, and He looked
around over the audience till He found the woman. And He said, told her that she'd
had a blood issue and her faith had made her whole. Is that right? Now, how many
believes that He is still that same Christ tonight? How many knows that the New
Testament, the — the Book of Hebrews said that He is right now, this minute, our
High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. How many knows
that? If He's the same High Priest, He'd act the same way. He is the Vine, we are
the branches. He cannot do nothing; He's waiting for us to do it. He made us joint-heirs
and we're workers with Him.
Excuse me, young ladies, my sisters. "El," comes from the word "a strong One"; "Shad"
means "breast." "Shaddai" means "breasted." God, He said, "I am Almighty God." Now,
if you got a "Scofield Bible," or if you got a "Thompson Chain," or if you get the
"Emphatic Diaglott," or any commentary, you notice that that word broke down when
he called Him that, he called Him El, and He appeared to Him in the Name of El-Shaddai.
What a wonderful message to an old man that had been believing that promise now
for twenty-four years. And the Bible said, "He got stronger all the time." "How
are you feeling, Sarah?" "No different." "Glory to God, we'll have her." Fifteen
years pass. "How you going to feel, Sarah?" "Well, I — I — I just not a bit different.
Now, I got the Greek lexicon here, The Emphatic Diaglott. I studied the other day
on a word. Now, in John 14, or John 3:16, we find, one place says, "have everlasting
Life." Another place it says, "have Eternal Life." But in the Greek, in the Greek
version... In the Hebrew, it says, "Life without end." In the Greek word, has a-i-n-i-o-a-n.
Almost like "aeon." Aeon is "a space" that can't be, is a number that can't be numbered.
It's beyond millions, trillions, billion. But this is aionios of time, Eternal Life.
And the English word for it is Eternal. We know it as Eternal, aionios, or "Life
without end." See? And if you've got Life without end, how can you perish? You have
become a part of the Eternal. And there's only one thing Eternal. Satan is not Eternal.
No. He — he become Satan. Hell is not Eternal. Hell was created. It's not Eternal.
And these bodies are not Eternal. They were created. But the Spirit of God is Eternal.
It never had a beginning, or It never has an end. And the only way we can have Eternal
Life, from that Greek word, Zoe, which means, "God's Own Life," we have, we become
a part of God when we become sons and daughters of God, and we have aionios Life.
So the part that lives, us, that recognizes this Word, from here to there, that
recognizes, is aionios Life, "Life without end." It's God's Own Life in us. Amen.
Now let me just read you out of The Emphatic Diaglott here, something, of Revelation
17:3, and the Apocalypse of The Emphatic Diaglott here. And just watch this, how
this reads, and how — how beautifully it just compares with that. Revelation 16,
17. All right. Now let's read here just a minute. Listen to this, real close, Revelation
17:3. And one of THOSE SEVEN Angels having... SEVEN Bowls came and spoke to me,...
I'm reading you, out of The Lexicon. "Having..." ... "Come, I will show thee the

JEFFERSONVILLE.IN V-3 N-21 SUNDAY_ And we all know that's the Vatican. Here we got
Our Sunday Visitor in there, from the Catholic church, telling us just exactly what
it is. See? And this answer to it, said, "But wait a minute." Said, "There's been
all kinds of names," said, "would make six hundred and sixty-six." I said, "But
just a minute." Said, "Your name might make six hundred..." "But," I said, "I don't
set on seven hills, ruling the world, though, you see." Uh-huh! See? That's right.
See? [Brother Branham reads Revelation 17:1 from The Emphatic Diaglott — Ed.] ...
show thee the JUDGMENT of THE GREAT WHORE, that SET upon Many Waters; Waters, Revelation
17:15, is "thickness and multitudes of people." See? with whom the KINGS of the
EARTH have committed fornications, and the INHABITANTS of the EARTH have been made
drunk with the WINE of the... her FORNICATION." Now what? And he conducted me, in
the Spirit, into a Desert;... The Emphatic Diaglott now. See? ... and I saw a Woman
sitting upon a scarlet coloured Beast, full of Blasphemous Names,... Now, in the
King James, says, "full of names of blasphemy." Just a moment, and I'll get it here,
just a minute. Revelations, the 3rd. All right, here it is. All right. Revelation,
I meant 17, not 7; 17, now listen at the 3rd verse. And he carried me away in the
spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet coloured beast,
full of names of blasphemy,... That's the way the English give it. But the original
Greek from The Diaglott reads it like this, in Revelation 17:3. Listen. And he conducted
me, in the Spirit, into a Desert; and I saw a Woman sitting upon a scarlet coloured
Beast — Beast, full of Blasphemous Names,... That's a lot different, from "names
of blasphemy" to "blasphemous names." What is it? And we... Now, she was: ... THE
MOTHER OF HARLOTS...
I caught that this morning when I was reading here, the coming down. Something just
told me, "Go into your room. Pick up The Diaglott." Well, it's just obedience. That's
all. Walked in. And I picked out Revelation 17. I thought, "Why do You want me to
read this for?" I started reading. [Brother Branham snaps his finger — Ed.] Soon
as I struck it, "There it is." I got a pencil and wrote it down. I said, "There
And then I made this statement, that, there is no such things as Church denominations.
There is no such a thing. It's lodge denominations. You're only born into the Church.
And when somebody says, "I am a Presbyterian," you belong to the Presbyterian lodge.
See? Because you're born... "I am Baptist." You belong to the Baptist lodge, not
the Baptist Church. There is no such a thing. And we turned it right back, and found
in the Bible, that to even say such a thing is blasphemy. That's right. Read it
right out of the original manuscript from the Emphatic Diaglott, that the Bible
said that the... that this power, called the church, "is full of blasphemous names."
See? Calling themselves Christians and setting themselves as Christians, and just
living any kind of a life. See? And it certainly compared with a dream that a sister
here in the church had, that we explained here this morning. Now, the Bible times,
the way that they ordained a minister, was by recognizing a gift of God in this
Listen, watch here. Let's close it on something another here, drive something down
tight right at this time. How many has a Greek lexicon, the Emphatic Diaglott from
the old manuscript, Greek? All right. Read it, get any scholar that you want to.
Get into the library and get the lexicon, Greek lexicon. Read Revelation 17, and
when you read there, the King James Version here says, and this, "He carried me
away in the Spirit; and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet clothed beast, full
of — of names of blasphemy." Now, that's what the King James said. But the original
interpretation said: ... carried me away in the spirit... and I saw a woman... full
of blasphemous names,...
In Revelations the 17th chapter, if you'll read in the "Diaglott," the "Emphatic
Diaglott" of the original Vatican manuscripts, you'll find there in Revelations
17 (in the King James version), it says, "And she was full of names of blasphemy."
The prostitute church, a daughter, she had daughters, many daughters associated
with her, and she was a prostitute. The first organized religion ever was, was organized
at Nicaea, Rome, at the Nicaea, after the Nicene Council, then she become an organization,
a universal Christian church of an organization. She had daughters. And you see
there the King James put it, "She had names of blasphemy." But in the original "Diaglott,"
it said, "She was full of blasphemous names." What a difference from "names of blasphemy"
to "blasphemous names." That means to me, I don't know, I... If I'm wrong, God forgive
me, but it means churches that has took on the names of Christianity, that live
like the world, and act like the world, and do the things of the world, and has
brought a disgrace upon the true church of the living God. And they join those.
You might join the Methodist lodge, Presbyterian lodge, or the Pentecostal lodge,
but you cannot join the church. You must be born into the church by the baptism
of the Holy Spirit. That is true.
People who join churches and call that "got salvation," it's a blasphemy. Now, I
know the King James here said, "names of blasphemy," but you look in the Diaglott,
and see if it is. It says, "Blasphemous names." There's quite a difference. She
is full of those. She's got nine hundred and something different organizations in
her, plenty of blasphemous names. Got away, by some man-made tradition got away
from the true worship, power out of the...
And here He is, doing more now, for He said, "The works that I do shall you do also,
and more than this shall you do." I know the King James says "greater," but the
Emphatic Diaglott says "more." Couldn't do any greater; He stopped nature, raised
the dead. You could just do more of it, see, quantity instead of quality.
Did you notice it never said nothing about marriage? Notice, "The sons of God came
unto the daughters of man," nothing about marriage. And if you take in the original
Greek there, the word meaning, says, I've got it wrote down here somewhere, a "wife."
"Taken to them wives," in the 3rd verse, "taken them wives." In the Greek, I looked
it up this afternoon, it didn't say, "Take to them wives." It said, "Took to them
women," not wives. Now you check it with your — with your... the Emphatic Diaglott,
and watch if that isn't true. "Taken unto them women," not wives. They took them
just as they were, free lovers, like we have today. Other words, they were lovers
in that day just as they are now. They went any way they wanted to, and took any
woman that they could.
I know the King James says, "more," but you get the Emphatic Diaglott and see if
it don't say — don't say... King James says, "greater." You couldn't do no greater.
Nothing could be done any greater. He healed the sick, raised the dead, stopped
nature, done everything there was. "But more shall you do."
63-0627 JESUS CHRIST THE.SAME YESTERDAY TODAY AND FOREVER
And Abraham, after the revelation, he seen it and he knowed that there was one God.
And he seen it, and he said, "My Lord, come aside, sit down, let me wash Your feet."
Now, he never said, "lord..." And, watch, it's in the — it's in the capital there.
Anyone knows it. I got the Emphatic Diaglott. See, it's capital L-o-r-d, "Lord,"
Elohim, the All-Sufficient One. Said, "Let me fetch a little water and wash Your
feet, and give You a morsel of bread, then You can go on Your way."
