Roy E. Davis Pentecostal Debate:
Researchers have found more articles of Roy E. Davis, the Imperial Grand Dragon of the Original Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, some of which tie very closely to our examination of his strategy using religion through an Indiana cult.
While William Branham falsely claimed (and current followers maintain) that Roy Davis was not Pentecostal, all documented cases of Davis' religious beliefs say otherwise. In fact, his Jeffersonville Indiana Pentecostal Tabernacle of which William and Hope Branham were members bears the Pentecostal name, and descriptions of his sermons in the Jeffersonville Evening News present a Pentecostal preacher of the era.
One particular article sent in to us describes the points of interest in a debate that Davis held against another minister, and describes the theological stance Davis affirmed.
Why did William Branham claim that he was not affiliated or even aware of the Pentecostals until after Davis fled Indiana for his crimes? What purpose would Branham have in being dishonest about this fundamental aspect of his "Message?"
