Some of you contacting us claim that you are skeptical of 'history.’ This is likely because you have been 'programmed' to be this way. But you see, the problem we find with Branham’s prophecy has nothing to do with missing historical data -- all of Branham's 'prophecies' are given after the fact except two. (and yes, those two failed.) The problem with the failed visions has much more to do with Branham’s source of news.
Based on some of the crazy statistics we see, such as “80 percent of children in Arizona schools are mentally retarded,” one could very easily ask the question if some of these ‘prophecies’ came from National Enquirer.
If I claimed to have prophesied that a fire truck exploded and took out the World Trade Center, people just simply would not buy it! But I can easily say that I prophesied in 1995 that a plane would fly into the World Trade Center, and New York would be in turmoil. And people would have trouble proving that I did not say it.
Why? Because it is far more difficult to prove a negative! If Branham had his prophecies written down with multiple copies for all to read, and the prophecy happened exactly as he wrote beforehand, it would be difficult to prove them to be false. But, when you are forced to take his word that he did in fact have a vision – and then his own word changes, it is impossible to even make sense of it!
If I were a devious mind, and I mistakenly told people about the 'fire truck story,' I would quickly change my tune to something more believable.
Prophets of the Old Testament wrote the Word that came from God into scrolls, and had scribes writing multiple scrolls. Some prophecies were even inscribed into stone, so that man would never forget the Word from Yahweh – and be reminded that God is all-powerful and all-knowing.
Take that same example with these two statements by William Branham -- both discussing the same exact prophecy regarding Franklin D Roosevelt:
The president which now is, President Franklin D. Roosevelt... (Now remember, this is twenty-eight years ago.) will cause the whole world to go to war --BRANHAM, 60-1113 CONDEMNATION.BY.REPRESENTATION
The next vision foretold that an Austrian by the name of Adolph Hitlerwould rise up as dictator over Germany, and that he would draw the world into war. It showed the Siegfried line and how our troops would have a terrible time to overcome it. Then it showed that Hitler would come to a mysterious end. --BRANHAM, LAODICEAN.CHURCH.AGE
Why? Check this out!
But last week, the reason I was expressing the way I did, there was more than politics included. I'd like to read you a prophecy that was given. I got on... And many... By the way, Mr. Mercier and many of them are going to take some of these old prophecies, and dig them out, and revise them a little, or bring them up to date, and put them in papers. --60-1113 CONDEMNATION.BY.REPRESENTATION
History tells us that WWII began in March 1939. The United States finally joined into the war after over 2 years of fighting in 1941, after several other major world powers had entered into the war. Below is a list of the countries, and the date they entered into WWII.
Great Britain 9/3/39
New Zealand 9/3/39
S. Africa 9/6/39
Costa Rica 12/8/41
Dom Rep 12/8/41
El Salvador 12/8/41
Five world powers were already at war as either Axis or Allied forces. Though it was necessary for the United States to get involved to stop Germany as their forces grew, Roosevelt was hesitant to join the fighting. Instead, Roosevelt insisted on preventing Japan from becoming a part of the war or a supplier of military supplies. It was Japan’s bombing of Pearl Harbor that ultimately led to the United States joining the war, and only as retaliation from a first strike.
Branham’s scribes wrote down the prophecies after-the-fact. Then, when they didn’t come out just exactly as he said, or if they were not quite as believable as they had hoped, these ‘prophecies’ were changed to fit history!
This is not the way with prophets of God. In fact, God is so displeased with men who do this that he sent Ezekiel to speak against them in Ezekiel 13:
The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel, who are prophesying, and say to those who prophesy from their own hearts: ‘Hear the word of the Lord!’ Thus says the Lord God, Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! Your prophets have been like jackals among ruins, O Israel.
These prophets that Ezekiel describes are doing exactly what William Branham did! They are following after their own spirit – but have seen nothing!
You have not gone up into the breaches, or built up a wall for the house of Israel, that it might stand in battle in the day of the Lord. They have seen false visions and lying divinations. They say, ‘Declares the Lord,’ when the Lord has not sent them, and yet they expect him to fulfill their word. Have you not seen a false vision and uttered a lying divination, whenever you have said, ‘Declares the Lord,’ although I have not spoken?”
Just like William Branham with his failed statements he declared as “Thus Saith The Lord,” these prophets were doing exactly the same thing! They did see visions; there is no doubt. But Ezekiel says that they saw false visions!
God is not pleased with this. Here’s the Word of the Lord, speaking through Ezekiel. Here is the REAL Thus Saith The Lord:
Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Because you have uttered falsehood and seen lying visions, therefore behold, I am against you, declares the Lord God. My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and who give lying divinations. They shall not be in the council of my people, nor be enrolled in the register of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord God. Precisely because they have misled my people, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, these prophets smear it with whitewash, say to those who smear it with whitewash that it shall fall! There will be a deluge of rain, and you, O great hailstones, will fall, and a stormy wind break out. And when the wall falls, will it not be said to you, ‘Where is the coating with which you smeared it?’
The false prophets spoke ‘peace’ when God did not tell them to. Yahweh was angry.
Therefore thus says the Lord God: I will make a stormy wind break out in my wrath, and there shall be a deluge of rain in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to make a full end. And I will break down the wall that you have smeared with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you shall perish in the midst of it, and you shall know that I am the Lord. Thus will I spend my wrath upon the wall and upon those who have smeared it with whitewash, and I will say to you, The wall is no more, nor those who smeared it, the prophets of Israel who prophesied concerning Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her, when there was no peace, declares the Lord God.
Notice that it was not just the false prophets that were punished. Those who listened to the false prophets were also punished! God sent his wrath upon all who took part in this abomination!
As Christians, we should ask ourselves: Have we taken part in an abomination? Have we listened to a prophet that spoke saying “Thus Saith The Lord” when God did not speak? Will we be punished like these men in the Old Testament?
God have mercy upon us all.
