The strangest part of this sermon is the necessity to even preach this sermon. Most Christians are proud of their faith. They are not cast down, oppressed, and defeated in general. Only those who are in cult-like environments suffer these problems. Most Christians will tell you that they are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and have even created songs with those words as the title.
Only the cults are ashamed of their religion, because they know in their hearts that something is wrong. They know that they feel oppressed, but can't seem to shake that feeling. They know that depression and other problems are setting in, and do not know how to stop it.
David sings several songs about rejoicing with God. Paul preaches an entire series on Divine Love, which gives us joy. What 'message' gives us shame? Is it one that Paul spoke about when he said that if any man preaches any other 'gospel?'
WMB starts out by reminding the crowd about his trip to Tucson and seeing the seven angels that gave him the revelation of the seven seals:
I left here, by a vision, to go yonder to Tucson, to see what the Lord wanted me to do. There He met me up there, as He told you here that He would do it, and the form of seven Angels, and said to return back and the Seven Seals was to be opened. That's just exactly what happened.
The seven seals that WMB plagiarized from Clarence Larkin and the 'mysterious cloud' that happened in Arizona while WMB was in Houston, TX have little to do with this sermon, but he liked to remind people of his great and marvelous power.
WMB then reminds everyone about his prophecy plagiarized from Joe Brandt:
And when I understood that, I went, I said, "There is a Scripture about that somewhere." And I went and found it was Jesus, rebuking Capernaum by the seacoast. That night I looked up the Scriptures. Come home, got the history book; and Sodom and Gomorrah was once a--a thriving city, a Gentile headquarters of the world. And you know, that city, by an earthquake, sank into the Dead Sea. And Jesus stood, and said, "Capernaum, if Sodom would have had the works done in it that you've had done in you, it would have been standing today. But now you must be brought down to hell!" And about two hundred or three hundred years after His prophecy, with all them coastal towns, every one of them still standing but Capernaum, and it lays in the bottom of the sea. An earthquake sunk it into the sea.
As we pointed out before, the problem with WMB's 'vision' is that the angel supposedly told him that Capernaum was in the bottom of the sea. Capernaum has NEVER been in the bottom of the sea! Ages and ages, centuries and centuries, Capernaum remains (in ruin) to this day. It was not in the bottom of the sea when WMB made this false statement, nor has it ever been according to history.
It is interesting how WMB stops himself short here:
And this scientist was speaking, being on an interview. We was watching on television. And he said, "Beneath that is just a churning lava." And he said this, he said, "That is a chunk will break loose," and said, "and it will." And this inter-...
The man, scientist interviewing this chief scientist, said to him, said, "Well, that could then all sink?"
He said, "Could? It's got to!"
Said, "Well, course, will probably be many, many years from now."
He said, "It can be in five minutes from now, or it can be in five years from now." He just lotted five years.
But just as I sure was standing there under that Inspiration, put judgment on that West Coast, and then followed it right up here with the sinking of Los Angeles, she is gone! That's right. It will happen. When? I don't know.
But, oh, what happened? You know, we only got six continents now. We had seven, that one that sunk between Africa and the United States. Oh, it's historical, you know about it. Now, if that goes down, then I want you to watch when...
WMB went around teaching that a tidal wave would reach Kentucky when Los Angeles went under -- yet another fear tactic that the non-thinking mind would easily overlook. The physics of that tidal wave would not allow for it to reach Kentucky. If it were large enough, judgement would not just be striking the west coast, judgement would strike most of the states in-between.
WMB then brings up the 'spiritual cloud' a second time. He pretends that he did not know about the 'white wool' on the 'Ancient of Days' 'revelation' that he plagiarized from Clarence Larkin.
He continues to say that these are the same angels that gave WMB the 'mystery' of Serpent's seed. Most people did not know that this 'mystery' came from the Kaballah, and that both Hitler and the Ku Klux Klan were teaching it. It is interesting when you consider WMB's support for the KKK that he mentions on recording.
You see the picture the other day, how He turned that picture sideways there? And the very picture of those seven Angels being lifted up, turn it to the right-hand side, and there is the face of the Lord Jesus looking down to the earth again.
You remember when I preached The Seven Church Ages, I couldn't understand why Jesus standing there with a "white" over His head. He was a young Man. I took it back in the Bible, it said, "He came to the Ancient of Days, Whose hair was white as wool." Jesus was only thirty-three and a half years old, at His crucifixion.
WMB then makes a very blasphemous statement. He now decides that he is the one to do the work of Jesus Christ. No longer simply a forerunner as he previously claimed, he was the one to 'call out a bride.'
Just a perfect Message, back to the Word, "Go get that Bride!" That's a duty. That's what I'm here for. That's what I'm trying to do, is call out a Bride.
This is not scriptural, and would be condemned by the great Irenaeus in his book "Against Heresies." One can only surmise the reason that God took WMB off the scene.
It is almost halfway through the recording before WMB actually starts the sermon. The first half included all of the many wondrous things that WMB had done before the people.
Unfortunately, he starts off on the wrong foot. Elevating the prophets to the level of God:
If you notice, the prophet, in one sense of the word, in the Old Testament, when he said THUS SAITH THE LORD, now watch him, he goes right into the phrase of taking the place of God. You notice, when he placed out before him, THUS SAITH THE LORD, he fell right into God, and he acted as God. Then he gave his Message, which was God speaking through him, "THUS SAITH THE LORD!"
Prophets do not fall into God or act as God, they put themselves out of the way. Diviners are the ones who 'act as god'. That was Balaam's mistake.
WMB then reminds them a third time about the events surrounding the spiritual cloud. This time, hoever, he adds a minor fabrication:
That's what it is when you know that you're talking to Him! You would think it was a foolish thing when somebody... When, I know that there is a few people in the world holds on to what I say to be the Truth. To stand here and say, "THUS SAITH THE LORD, I'm going to Arizona, there I'll meet seven Angels in a cluster,"
WMB prophesied of five angels in a pyramid as a constellation, not seven angles in the shape of the face of Jesus in a cloud. When the cloud came, he was in Houston, TX, not Arizona.
WMB then takes just a little bit away from the scriptures to support his 'Jesus Only' beliefs:
But whosoever is ashamed of Me and My Word, in this generation, him will I be ashamed of before My Father and the holy Angels.
The scripture is not simply "before my Father", it is before the Son and the Father and his angels.
For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. (Luke 9:26)
Notice also how the editors at the organization have capitalized "Angels" as if they are some great importance. Angels are nothing to God. Angels can fall, and Lucifer is a prime example to that fact.
