65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD

John Collins5/9/2012 1:10:00 PMIt is interesting that WMB again brings up the trip to India. This was one of two prophecies that were 'prophesied' before the event happened, and like the other one was a failed prophecy:
Quote:
In his store, the other day, was a man came in, was very striking, he was saying something that brought back a memory to me, when I... last time I was in--in India.
Where, I think the Lord gave us the greatest crowd we ever had at one time, was in Bombay. We couldn't even find places nowhere to put them, tens of thousands and thousands of people.
65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD

There were supposed to be tens of thousands and thousands of people 'saved', but in his own words, they were simply 'gathered'.

Here is the original vision:
Quote:
Mark my word; write it in the pages of your Bible, for it's THUS SAITH THE LORD, "Remember, when we land in India, you're going to hear of tens of thousands times thousands being saved." The Holy Spirit has said it; I've wrote it here in my Bible; it's wrote in tens of thousands of Bibles right here, like the resurrection of the little boy. By a vision that He said, "There's three hundred thousand of them in there." And you see if that isn't right. There's how the Gospel's going to be preached just overnight. She'll just sweep like that from place to place.
BRANHAM, Questions and Answers, May 15, 1954 (tape #54-0515)

In his own words, this is what happened:
Quote:
And when... I had been very much constrained to go to--to India. And yet, as many of you might know, the Indian trip wasn't the success that it should've been, because I failed to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and never recognized it after He give me a vision to go to Africa first and then to India.
BRANHAM, India Trip Report, January 26, 1957 (tape #57-0126B)

It is interesting that WMB uses this particular quote from the Bible:
Quote:
Now God is just as able to prove His Word, tonight, as He ever did prove It. And the Bible also said, "Prove all things. Hold fast to that what's good."
65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD

Followers today hold fast to what is spoken by WMB, even if it conflicts with the Word.

WMB is caught in a lie by letters from his own daughter [unauthenticated] that were confirmed by Brother Jackson [authenticated]:
Quote:
"The other hunter, your friend, tells me that you get to hunt everywhere. You got plenty of money?" Said, "I guess it's none of my business."
And I said, "No," I said, "it isn't plenty of money." I said, "I--I'm sponsored."
And he said, "Oh, I see." He said, "Well, I guess it's none of my business again, but," said, "are you with a firm that sponsors you?"
65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD

At the time of his death, WMB had gathered over three million dollars that were stored in bank accounts. Followers see him as a humble man that did not spend much money, but this large game hunter knew that these hunts cost a fortune!

WMB then supports the Mormon church, well known to be a cult:
Quote:
And then he said--he said, "I want to ask you something." He said, "I am told that the Mormon church is the only true church there is." He said, "Do you believe that?"
I said, "When it comes to church, I guess it's as good as any of them. I only know one Truth, and that's Jesus Christ." I said, "I know He is True."
65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD

WMB himself tells about the Mormon prophecy that pointed to himself, so there is no wonder that he would support them:
Quote:
And then one night, I was coming out of Seattle, and there was a man standing over there. And he had a book under his arm. He kept telling me, "Brother Branham, you're in the wrong church."
And I didn't know what he was talking of. And he put the book under my arm. It was called the Mormon Word Of God. I don't know what it was. It's a--it's one of their prophets of The Latter Day Saint, some bunch of them, that they claims they see the neophytes. And--and back there a hundred and... long long... how long ago it was, it... on a certain page there... I have the book in my library. It prophesied, their prophet, and said, that, "In the last days that Germany would have a--a ism called Nazis." And it went ahead and said, "In that day, let W-i double l-i-a-m, William Branham be called and set aside in humility for the service that I have called him to." That's right.
51-0509 Believe Ye That I Can Do This

Quote:
The Church of Christ with the Elijah Message is a denomination of the Latter Day Saint movement. Its founder, William Draves (1912 - 1994), claimed to have received visitations and messages from an angel who identified himself as John the Baptist and Elijah. William Draves compiled all of these messages in a book entitled The Word of the Lord Brought to Mankind by an Angel. The 52nd message, written on October 4, 1941, mentions William Branham in the 18th paragraph, as transcribed below:
Therefore; let John Bracken, Lloyd Ford, John S. Seiffert, George William Draves, George T. Morris, David Spitler, William Pearl Brown, and my servant William Branham be set apart as elders. Let them be very humble and swift to obedience, and the greater portion of the Spirit will come over them to lead the way. Let them be at work, for the Lord has heard their prayers.

WMB then changes the scriptural account of Jesus Christ:
Quote:
As I said the other night, He come in three names; the name of the Son of God, Son of man, and Son of David.
When He was on earth here, the first time, He was the Son of man. He could not be Son of God then; He never claimed to be. He said He was "Son of man."
65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD

This is not biblical -- Jesus was both man AND the Son of God.
Quote:
She said to him, "Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world." (John 11:27)
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. (John 10:29)

WMB then
Quote:
Now, quickly, let's think of Him a moment, here He is on His road up. A little priest came down, no doubt but that little fellow was a borderline believer.
There is so many of them in the world today, little borderline believers. They want to believe That. They want to believe that the Holy Ghost is real. They want to believe this is the apostolic move, as God promised in the last days He would pour out His Spirit. We... he wants to believe in Malachi 4, that He promised, in the last days the--the original pentecostal Faith would be restored back to the--to the church again.
Malachi 4 claims it. "Behold, I will send to you Elijah in the last day," that's right, "and He will restore the Faith of the children back to the fathers again," see, "the Faith of the fathers to the children, also." See, it's got to be.
You say, "Well, that was John the Baptist." No, no.
John the Baptist was Malachi 3. That's right. Matthew 11 says so, "If you can receive it, this is he who is spoke of, 'Behold, I send My messenger before My face.'" It was Elijah, certainly. Jesus said it was. But not the Elijah of Malachi 4, at all.
65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD

WMB then takes a scripture, and changes one word to serve his purpose -- just like the serpent did for Eve.
Quote:
65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD_ LOS.ANGELES.CA V-18 N-3 MONDAY_

No don't get me wrong, it is by faith in Jesus Christ that we are all saved. But Elijah is not coming to restore any faith. The scripture he refers to speaks of Elijah preparing the way, and can just as easily be proven that it was describing John the Baptist. Faith comes from Jesus Christ, not from any man. And it is given by grace.

Let's compare what WMB says with what the scriptures say:
Quote:
"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. 6 And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction."
Malachi 4

Notice that the scripture says 'hearts' instead of 'faith'. Now notice the capitalization used by the editors of the organization in the reading of scripture by WMB, capitalizing 'Faith' as though it were some great revelation that WMB's twisting of the scripture were more correct in some way.

It is very interesting when you consider this [blank spot on tape] for more reasons that just one:
Quote:
He promised that in this day, the day that we're living in, that the world would be in a Sodom condition, homosexuals. Just look at it in the world today, all over the world where I travel; not only here, everywhere. It's critical. In Sweden, young men and women go skiing, stark-naked. And they in Germany and in France, and everywhere else, it's just about kind of a riffraff that we have here in the United States. It's an age. I, if I get a chance to ever come back, I'd like to speak on some of the prophetic things, to you, and show you that, the age that we're living in. The Bible said that, "Children would rule their parents."
[Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]... Word.
65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD

WMB starts by condemning this 'Sodom condition', with these homosexuals. Gene Goad and Leo Mercer, according to Dr. Lee Vayle, were homosexual. According to Vayle, WMB knew this, and allowed it. Does that place WMB in a 'Sodom condition?'

Then, he talks about the women going stark-naked. This is even more interesting, when you consider the fact that WMB himself was overly interested in the stark-naked people.
Quote:
WMB spent some time in and around London until flying to Paris for a couple of days of seeing the sights there. No word of seeing King George VI. These sights included a visit to Place Pigalle, the Paris Red Light District. It was called Pig Alley by US soldiers visiting this prostitution district during WW II. WMB said he had heard about its immorality and just had to go there and see it for himself. His verdict, "It's true!"
wmbranham.net

WMB Then gives a reference to Luke 17:30
Quote:
Watch Jesus, in Luke 17:30, see, when He was saying there about the end time, how they would be like in days of Noah. Then He said, "And like, likewise, in the days of Sodom," said, "when the Son of man is being revealed." The Son of man again, not Son of God. "Son of man," see, that brings in Malachi 4 again, right straight back. All these other prophecies coming right in, how it's supposed to be done. He proves His Word to be so. That's right.
65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD

This is interesting, because when read in context, Jesus was warning us about those that would turn us away from our focus in Jesus Christ. WMB often used the end of this passage to show how it was the 'little bride.'

WMB would say that "where the carcass is, the eagles will gather," saying that eagles eat fresh meat. The actual translation is, "Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather."

WMB said that the eagle will only eat fresh meat, which isn't true. They also eat the same dead corpse that vultures will eat.

There are some Bible translations that use 'eagle', because that was the way that Josephus described the emblems on the roman soldiers. The more accurate translation, however, is vultures -- the griffon vulture specifically, which was much larger than the eagle.

When you read the entire scripture in context, you find that it is speaking of false prophets rising right before the tribulation, and at the end of the tribulation, the vultures eat the corpses. Either way you look at it, eagles or vultures, these were the 'bad guys', not the 'good guys'.

Again, WMB tries to claim that the number of letters in his name are significant:
Quote:
Positionally, the world has never sit in that estate, from that day that Jesus made the promise, until right now. I want to ask any historian that might be in the building, or if you hear even on this tape, and hear it at any time, please write me. I've studied history now for some thirty years, the Bible history, and there never has been a person that I've ever seen in all the history of the church, through the seven church ages. That we're now in Laodicea, and we know that.
Never has there been a messenger, that ever went to the entire church, with his name ending with h-a-m, till now. G-r-a-h-a-m, Billy Graham. There has been Moody's, Finney, Sankey, Knox, Luther, and so forth, but never a h-a-m, "father to nations." Now remember, he is G-r-a-h-am, six letters. But A-b-r-a-h-a-m is seven letters.

Unfortunately for the listeners of the day, they did not have the iPads with the Lexicon built into it. A-b-r-a-h-a-m is English, and may have a similar number of letters. In the original Hebrew, however, there are only five letters of this FIRST NAME to compare to WMB's LAST NAME.

Genesis 17 speaks about the name change from Avrm to avrhm. In ancient Hebrew there are NO vowels, they must be supplied by the reader. So we actually have 4 letters in Abrm's name which God, not Abraham's father changed to Abrhm.

WMB then gets into the prayer line, but reminds the congregation of his powerful halo:
Quote:
Here, how many ever seen that Light in the picture? You seen the picture of It? [Congregation says, "Amen."--Ed.] There It hangs right there. Can't you see It?
65-0426 PROVING.HIS.WORD

As already proven in this forum, WMB's claims for the supernatural are invalidated by his fabrications in the details.
