John Collins5/7/2012 11:15:00 AMIt is very interesting that WMB cuts himself short here after you read Sarah Branham's letter stating that there was over $3 million saved up by this time. He was careful not to say that he does not gain money:
Course, we will take up a offerings, I suppose. And we don't want them man to pay for that themselves; we'll pay for... pay them back. But when we get our expenses and things, well, then, of course, we stop taking offerings. We don't...

Also interesting to the 'uneducated' people of the day is his mention of the 'Serpent's Seed.' Many MSG people believe that only THEY have the revelation of this, not realizing that it came from the Kaballah. Many people know about this, and it has spun off very evil movements such as Hitler and the KKK. It actually makes the people seem less intelligent since they think that this originated with WMB.
First, we took it right off of the tape, the way it was written or spoken. You know, you can preach a sermon, is one thing, and then write a book is another. See, like I'd happen to touch on a subject, like I'd say to you, you'd understand, I'd say, "Now, the serpent's seed," see.
Well, now, the reader of that book, if you took that off, would wonder, "What is the serpent's seed?" See? And they wouldn't know. If that happened to go into such a place like Princeton or somewhere, and they--they would think we were unintelligent people.

WMB tries to compare the ship Jonah was travelling in with the denominations of this day. Scripturally and historically, this was not correct.
Oh, how many denominational ships have we got going down to Tarshish, for the Jonah's of these days, nine hundred of them, something, a ships that takes the easy route. Don't want to face up to it.
Jonah didn't want to face up, the thing of going to the Gentiles. He didn't want to take that cruel Message over there, "Within forty days, you'll perish if you don't repent." He hated to do that. And he thought, "Them Gentiles, is hard to tell what they'll do to me." But he had to face up to it. See? But he took a easy ship and went down to Tarshish, went down in the hull of the ship and went to sleep; took the easy route.

What many MSG believers do not realize is that God saved the souls of every one of those men. Jonah's being aboard that ship that was 'the easy way' brought them near to death! God saved those men not only from the storm, but gave them salvation for their souls.
According to Jonah 1:16, "Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the Lord, and made vows."

Also, historically, that 'cruel message' scenario is also not correct. Jonah's 'cruel message' was simply 'put away your idols and repent.' He did not fear the people because of his 'cruel message', he feared the people because they were violently opposed to the Jews. They would torture Jews in indescribable horrors -- filleting their bodies, dismembering them, and worse. It would be similar to one of us today going to the Taliban and saying, "Praise MY God! Repent!"

It is very interesting that there is a [blank spot on tape] here, considering the subject matter. This is one of WMB's conflicting stories, where he went back and forth between communism/rome/russia/rome/communism/one of the isms. It would be highly interesting to see which way he waffled this particular time, since it was the year of his death:
We see isms and things rising up, and all these different things, we know there has got to be a true answer to this.
There is people out here in the country now, a going into caves and things, "And on the 16th of March," you've read it in the paper, "the Lord is coming." You know that isn't so.
Jesus said, "No man knows the minute or the hour."
When we see all these things, and things taking place the way they are, and there's got to be a true answer somewhere. There's got to be a Truth. There is one, east; and one, west; but there's a one, southeast, and northwest, or something. But there's got to be a true answer, somewhere, to the problem. []

If you want to see all of the waffling, and how this 'vision' is contradicted by his own words, you can look through the quotes in the 'Visions of 1933' section.

He then pulls some punching on Gospel singers of the day, knowing that most followers had thrown out their televisions and did not know his accusations towards them were either untrue or a very MINOR group when compared to the whole:
And then over there they had a television. And in this television, these kids got to watching, on Sunday morning, some kind of a hymn-singing that come on. And, you know, it--it would almost make you ashamed; if there wasn't a genuine Christianity somewhere that you could put your hands on, to see what's called Christianity. Why, it seems like all the sincerity is gone out of it. Why, they don't, they don't seem to... Why, it's just terrible the way they stand there and draw their fists and fight one another, on there, and try to sing hymns and everything like that; and pull jokes that hardly a sailor would pull, and say all kinds of things, and kid and go on. You know, the sacredness of--of--of Christianity has seemed to lose its place.

Now, most MSG members either have a television, hidden monitor that plays 'videos', or watches their entertainment at some friends house. Most have seen the gospel videos of today and the gospel videos of the times of old. If I were a betting man, I would place large wagers against those old gospel singers telling jokes that 'hardly a sailer would pull.'

Statements like these have turned pastors like the one currently running WMB's home church in Jeffersonville against music altogether. It is interesting that the 'organization' is so excited about the national quartet convention after a statement like this.

But the worse part: Matthew 7: Judge not lest ye be judged. Within every crowd are God's people, and that includes the Gospel singers.

He then injects a Buddhist doctrine into the sermon:
You can see, people today. There is two spirits. And one of them is the Holy Spirit; the other one is a unholy spirit, and one is governed by that. And both of them religious. Now, yeah, that's the strange part, they're both religious. And just like Esau and Jacob was, both religious; like Cain and Abel was, both religious; like Judas and Jesus was, both religion, both religious. And we see it today, both sides, religious. See, it's the same spirit. The people die, but the spirit doesn't die. It goes right on, both religious.

This can be traced to both Buddhism and Gnosticism. Two forces, good and evil. Yin and Yang. Powerful God, powerful devil. Holy spirit, evil spirit. Not biblical.

God is omnipotent, but Satan is NOT omnipotent. The Bible does not speak of God and Satan alone, it speaks of God and "Satan and his DEMONS". We should not bring Buddhism into teachings that will raise Satan higher in power, even if it is just in our own minds.

He then goes into smoking and drinking. First let me say that I do not condone either one of them:
They, ignoring the--the unchanging Word of God, as though It never had been written.
See, you can say, "Now, looky here, if--if the baptism..."
"I have the Holy Spirit!"
"And standing there with that cigar in your hand, smoking it?"
"Yes, I have the Holy Spirit! I don't think it's wrong to take a little drink. I don't think it..." See?
And did you notice, "I don't think"? But God thinks different, you see, according to His Word. See? See, they... And they--they just simply as much as--as spit on It. That's exactly right.

Consider the fact that the great men of old burned incense. This is a pleasant odor you breathe, and I can tell you from experience that it can definitely fill your lungs -- more MSG people that you might realize use it.

But here's the real problem: Consider proverbs:
Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. (Proverbs 31:6)
Then ask yourself: What did Jesus give the disciples during the last supper?

It is interesting when you read the next [blank spot on tape], makes you wonder if people during that day had found the Truth to these things and were going to make things right:
Stop running. Don't get out of His Presence; just move up into His Presence. That's right. And I know that's what you're desiring to do. Cause, I seen licenses out there from Texas, and Louisiana, and everywhere. That's what we're here for, is not to run from His Presence, but to run into His Presence.
Come back, get off the... []... been a Jonah,

He then tries to show these men who assumedly found out the Truth by giving them an example of his 1933 baptism:
I am duty bound to a Message that's been given to me from Almighty God. As I stand here tonight, and God knows that's true, that right down on this river... There is people, perhaps, setting here, when that Angel of the Lord come down there and told me what He did, right there in 1933, right down on this Spring Street here. If you're a stranger here, drive right down. It's corner of Spring Street, there where you hit the river, and there is where it happened. That's been in 1933. It's probably been about thirty-two years ago, then. Oh, it's been thirty-... it's been thirty-... thirty-two years ago, thirty-two years ago.

It is already proven in this forum that his 1933 claims were fabricated, but that evidence was not available to those men during that day. Had it been available, They might have 'nipped it in the bud.'

He then likens his 'discernment' in the prayer lines to that of Jesus Christ:
That's the way He done them things. He could tell fortunes. He looked through their--their minds and perceived their thoughts. He's a fortuneteller."
But, what it was, He--He was the Word of God made manifest for that hour. And He was duty bound. He said, "I do always that which is pleasing to My Father." God help us to do the same thing, do that which is pleasing to the Father.

"Spiritual Discernment" is a gift to the church to determine good and evil. It is not the gift to read what was written on the back of a prayer card and handed in to the "healer." God alone knows the hearts of men, and does not give that gift to ANYONE.

According to the Bible, humanly no one can read other people's minds anymore than one can read God's mind and determine His or their motives and intents. "For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. (1 Cor. 2:11)

Biblical Examples of Discernment:
determine false prophets or teachers (1 John 4:1-2)
understand the mysteries of the Spirit, (1 Cor. 13:2)
identify the beast of Revelation (Rev. 13:18)
determine when people' s motives and words were false (Acts 5:1-11)
prevent being mislead by all sorts of false doctrines, (Eph. 4:14)

The worst statement of this sermon, however is this:
Many here tonight, Lord, and will be here, that's confused on these subjects that's vital. O God, open that fountain in the house of God, that--that's for cleansing us. I pray, God, that You'll wash us and cleanse us in Thy Blood, and make us new creatures. And give us grace and strength, to bring forth the Word of Truth in Its Divine revelation of the Being of Jesus Christ.
May He appear before us, Lord. May He come and heal our sickness, forgive our sins, fill our hungry hearts with good tidings of great joy, the Gospel made manifest in our lives.

Subjects that are the doctrines of men are NOT VITAL. Jesus Christ did not teach that we must find a doctrine and everyone must fully understand it.

Paul says it best:
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit.
(Hebrews 6:1-3)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God
(Ephesians 2:8)
