63-0115 Accepting God's Provided Way At The End

John Collins5/4/2012 3:20:00 PMNotice that it is not until paragraph 174 before WMB actually starts preaching, and 263 when he ended. That makes only 29% preaching and the rest are hunting stories, etc. Not much "meat" for examination.

Male and Female
WMB starts talking about his vision of the souls under the altar before the Judgment day. They were male and female with no sex organs (because WMB taught that sex was not in the original creation.

Quote:
And after He had told me, seeing all these people, and they were... They had bodies. They... There couldn't be sin. The men and women... Those women were hugging me, and they were women. But there were no possibility of ever being sin again, because, see, the glands of our bodies will be changed there. We have... We're different sex now, because that's for reproducing the world, and our--and our marriage to bring children.

This is contrary to the Bible. God created both male and female:
Quote:
So God created man in his own image, the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27

There is not a single place in the Bible that says we will not have our full bodies.

Souls Under The Altar
The "Souls Under The Alter" descriptions WMB gave are not Biblical. These are not the "Bride" waiting to be judged, these are the martyrs.

WMB Says:
Quote:
I said, "I want to see Jesus."
32 Said, "He's higher than this. Someday He will come, and you'll be judged by the Gospel that you preached, 'cause you was the leader."
I said, "Well, will Paul have to be judged by his crowd?"

The souls who were "slain" (martyred Christian throughout the ages) are the ones under the altar according to Revelation 6:

Quote:
9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. {...}11 Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants[c] and their brothers[d] should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.
Revelation 6

After learning that people in his campaign were homosexual, I won't comment on this one:
Quote:
And the most handsome men I ever seen, looked like all of them about twenty years old. And their eyes, sparkly. They, oh, they just every ounce of man. And I wondered. And they were picking me up and hugging me and saying, "Our precious brother."

Love of the World
This seems small but is a much larger hidden problem. WMB taught that we must not accept the world which is a subject that can fill pages and pages. We are supposed to be happy in the world we live in.

Cult leaders teach us to avoid the world. Christian leaders teach us to peacefully live in the world and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others:
Quote:
You know, there is many ways that--that people take, but really there's only two ways that a man can go, that's, the right way and the wrong way. And all of us here, tonight, we're on one of those roads, the right one or the wrong one. There's no middle ground. Jesus said, "You cannot serve God and mammon," meaning, "the world." We're either right or wrong.
63-0115 ACCEPTING.GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.AT.THE.END.TIME_

"Mammon" was taken out of context by WMB in more than one place. The meaning of this word is:
"Material wealth or greed, most often personified as a deity, and sometimes included in the seven princes of Hell."

When Jesus spoke of mammon, he was preaching to the "rich young ruler" who would not give up his money in Luke 16:
Quote:
1And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods. {...} 9And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

Pagan Teachings
WMB introduced many Pagan ideas into Christianity. Zodiac as the Bible, Pyramids as the Bible, Nature as the Bible... I could go on.

If God is the Word, and the Word is the Bible, you can say that you and I worship the Bible - and that is somewhat correct.

To worship nature is Pagan:

Nature Worship
Quote:
Above all else, Pagans are in awe of nature. They love the raw energy of the Earth, the strengthening heat of the sun, and the mysterious coolness of the moon. Some Pagans choose not to worship any specific deities, and focus, instead, on nature's energies.

Paganism Defined: Nature Worship | Suite101.com http://elizabethyetter.suite101.com/pag ... z1tl2JKMT1

The Bible teaches us to worship God, not nature:
Quote:
When you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars - all the heavenly array - do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshipping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven."(Deuteronomy 4: 19)

"Be careful to do everything I have said to you. Do not invoke the names of other gods; do not let them be heard on your lips." (Exodus 23:13)

How Old Was Enoch?
This is not a big deal on the outside, but is one of the many places where WMB references the Book of Enoch which is a Gnostic (Pagan) text.
Quote:
Enoch, after walking five hundred years with God, and God told him, "Enoch, you're not going to have to die. You want to come up home? Are you homesick, Enoch?"
63-0115 ACCEPTING.GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.AT.THE.END.TIME

This conflicts with the Bible, which says that Enoch lived 365 years, contrary to the Book of Enoch.
Quote:
Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years.
Genesis 5:23

What Did Elijah Preach?
On the surface, this one looks ok:
Quote:
Elijah, after he had condemned bobbed hair and painted faces, for all of his life,
63-0115 ACCEPTING.GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.AT.THE.END.TIME

It's not Biblical, however. There is not a single instance in the Bible for Elijah condemning 'bobbed hair and painted faces.' It was actually the culture of the day to paint their faces, and not just Jezebel.

Light at the Evening Time
This is one that WMB got confused on several times, and people even sing songs about it. The Light at the Evening Time doctrine even spun off "Evening Light" churches.
Quote:
"It shall be Light in the evening time." God's vindicated Word is the sign of the day that we're living in. It shall be Light. And He promised, through Malachi 4, through many places of the Bible, that the end-time people would see the same manifestation that they saw, 'cause He can't change that sign. He's promised it.
63-0115 ACCEPTING.GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.AT.THE.END.TIME_

Zechariah 14 describes the light at the evening time, but it is after the battle of Armegeddon. This is after the coming of the lord.

Quote:
Behold, a day is coming for the Lord, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst. 2 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle. 4 On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward. 5 And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.

On that day there shall be no light, cold, or frost.[a] 7 And there shall be a unique day, which is known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but at evening time there shall be light.
Zechariah 14

Intelligence is of the Devil
What do cult leaders have in common? Appeal to the people that are not quite so intelligent. Remove intelligence from those that are.

Quote:
"Well," you say, "that man is so smart, Brother Branham. He had four degrees. He's got a Bachelor of Art. He's got all this." I don't care what he's got. He'll have to forget everything he learned, in order to know Christ. That's right. He'll have to humble himself and get away from anything the world did to him.
63-0115 ACCEPTING.GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.AT.THE.END.TIME

This is simply not true. St. Luke was incredibly smart. The only Gentile that wrote a gospel, and spent so much time with the book that he researched it to put the events in chronological order.

Luke, a native of Antioch, by profession a physician.[11] He had become a disciple of the apostle Paul and later followed Paul until his [Paul's] martyrdom. Having served the Lord continuously, unmarried and without children, filled with the Holy Spirit he died at the age of 84 years. (p. 335)
Prologue to the Gospel of Luke

Rapturing Faith
This "rapturing faith" doctrine WMB taught is simply not true, and borders hypocracy.

Quote:
Then when you say, "Well, I'm exactly on His Word," then He vindicates that to be the Truth. Now He is still on course, tonight, if we'll just believe it. Will you do it?
Let's bow our head. Now, just as reverent as you can be, for a moment. God's provided way, that He might bring the believers to a Rapturing Faith. God's way, His provided way, to bring believers to Rapturing Faith.

The Bible tells us that it is nothing that we can do, it is by grace. Nothing from ourselves, it is a gift of God.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Eph 2:8)

No Divine Healing for Years (Or No Mind Reading For Years)?
WMB tried to make everyone believe that divine healing had been "hidden" for several centuries, and that WMB was God's choice to bring it back. Really???
Quote:
Did you know, this sign, this miracle, has not been done in history since the death of the last apostle? That's right. I've just come through the--the... all the history books that I know of, Hislop's Babylons. I come through the Foxe's Book of the Martyrs. I come through the pre-Nicene fathers, the Nicaea Council, and the post-Nicaea. I come through all those books. Not one place have I seen it, in the history of Martin Luther, John Wesley, the first revival, the Welsh revival.
63-0115 ACCEPTING.GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY.AT.THE.END.TIME

This quote can be taken one of two ways:
1) WMB is talking about the spiritual gift of healing
2) WMB is talking about "mind reads" (what he called discernment), which is NOT a spiritual gift to the church.

Let's cover both:

1) If WMB was speaking about the gift of healing, he was not correct.

Quote:
"How often it has happened, and still does, that devils have been driven out in the name of Christ; also, by calling on His name and prayer that the sick have been healed."
Martin Luther

Quote:
"When I was about seven and twenty, I began spitting blood and continued for several years. Eleven years after, I was in the third stage of consumption; it pleased God in three months to remove this also. This God hath wrought."
John Wesley

Quote:
Here he was with joy received by the godly. He chose the east gate for the place of his preaching; so that the healthy were within, and the sick without the gate. He took his text from these words, "He sent His word and healed them"
FOXE'S BOOK OF MARTYRS

2) If WMB was talking about "discernment", he did not understand what the Bible says about "discernment"

"Spiritual Discernment" is a gift to the church to determine good and evil. It is not the gift to read what was written on the back of a prayer card and handed in to the "healer."

According to the Bible, humanly no one can read other people's minds anymore than one can read God's mind and determine His or their motives and intents. "For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. (1 Cor. 2:11)

Biblical Examples of Discernment:
  • determine false prophets or teachers (1 John 4:1-2)
  • understand the mysteries of the Spirit, (1 Cor. 13:2)
  • identify the beast of Revelation (Rev. 13:18)
  • determine when people' s motives and words were false (Acts 5:1-11)
  • prevent being mislead by all sorts of false doctrines, (Eph. 4:14)

NOTE: Edited to add "Discernement" (above)
