The front of the Branham Tabernacle in Jeffersonville, Indiana has a stone inset with the inscription “Dedicated in 1933.” This section of the building was added in the 1960’s when the Tabernacle was renovated, and was not originally part of the foundation of the building. But this section of the building is not the only part that was not there in 1933 – the entire rest of the building was also not there!

The tabernacle was actually built much later. The very first time that the tabernacle (on the corner of 8th street and Penn street) is advertised in the newspapers is 1935. All articles prior refer to the church pastored by Roy E. Davis, who William Branham was assistant pastor to.

Branham preached from tents in the early years of his ministry, and the actual deed to the property was not to Branham until November 1936. (Note that the deed is presented for the “Billie Branham Pentecostal Tabernacle,” another indication that Branham’s conversion story was fabricated.
