Deep Study: Keith Loker - A Victim of William Branham's Mind Control Cult

Many members of the "Message," William Branham's mind control cult, are unaware of the evil that went on in Prescott, Arizona at the hands of Gene Goad and Leo Mercer who Branham nicknamed his "tape boys." Though the pastors of the cult appear to be fully aware, the information is controlled and seldom given to the followers. To date, nothing has changed to assure that what happened before will not happen again.

When we mention the "Park" on this website, we usually focus on the sexual misconduct of Gene and Leo, who Branham's close associate "Doctor" Lee Vayle admitted in sermon were homosexuals with issues far beyond their sexual preference. It is so shocking to cult followers to learn that William Branham knowingly travelled the country with homosexual men that after examining this information and other supporting information, we are often asked, "Was William Branham also homosexual?"

But we seldom pause to study the victim. While we discuss the slayings of a killer and the sexual crimes of recognized names in the "Message" cult, we overlook the true victim and the pain that it must cause for his family.

On November 27, 1991, the headlines of newspapers were filled with news of a killer on the run. Very little was known by the man, other than the fact that he was a twenty-year-old man named Keith Loker. San Bernardino County Sun ran a large article complete with map describing the crime spree entitled, "Arizona man sought in 3-day crime spree." According to the report, Loker had killed and wounded people inside the California "Robin Hood Adult Book Store," and then made his way back into Arizona robbing, raping, and shooting. Inside the adult bookstore, Loker had proven that his motive was not simply robbery; he paused to enter the pornography stalls and shoot and kill a man engaged in self pleasure. At his trial, he was accused of shooting to death two men in the adult bookstore, wounding two others in the same location, rape, and attempting to murder another. His crime spree ended in a 49-minute high-speed chase with 20 police officers pursuing in Arizona. Loker waved at TV cameras as he ran from police.

His murder trial went as expected, and sentencing trial went much the same. Convicted of murder for killing two men in the adult bookstore, the jury took less than a day to find Loker guilty of his charges and sentence him to death. But this trial was highly unusual, unlike other robbery and murder cases tried in the United States court system. Though the result of his crime spree could be compared to the outcome of any other, the motive of his crime made big news: The motive of this entire killing spree was suicide. Loker had decided that there was no hope left, and he would end his life by forcing the United States legal system to punish him by death.

The sentencing trial focused on Loker's childhood in a Prescott, Arizona trailer park that was a commune for what the newspapers called a "religious sect called The Message Church." His childhood far from normal, the result of a forced marriage that led to a family feud. Leo Mercer had ordered Roger Loker, a homosexual, to marry Marietta Daulton. According to newspapers, when it was discovered that Roger was homosexual, church elders physically assaulted Roger and forced him to have sex with his wife. The result of this forced sexual encounter resulted in Keith Loker, who many in the cult then believed to be a "demon child," marked with the evil spirit of his father. By the time Keith Loker was seventeen years old, his father refused to continue. Keith and his mother were kicked out of their home, and his father chose to replace them with his boyfriend.

The trial included testimony by several witnesses in the commune. Describing children being raped by elders of the church, the physical and sexual abuse of both children and adults, and even what appears to have been sexual slavery or the attempt of creating a sexual slave to the elders. Loker's defense attorney focused the jury's attention to not only the terrible childhood of the young killer, but also the environment that led to that terrible childhood.

"Among the mitigating factors: Loker's lack of a prior criminal record and the physical, psychological and emotional abuse he suffered during a bizarre upbringing. 'Shame, embarrassment and humiliation were common forms of punishment for even minor transgressions', Smith Said. According to family members, Loker was considered to have been 'born in perversion' in a trailer park that was home to a religious group. Loker was conceived after church elders discovered his father was homosexual, beat him up and forced him to have sex with his wife. The father never accepted his son. Although Loker clearly had severe emotional problems, there was no evidence that he received help, said his attorney Arthur Katz of the public defender's office."
- San Bernardino County Sun, Feb 11, 1995

While examining the shocking details of the sexual misconduct of the men Branham praised and put into power, we must never forget the victims of those same stories. Still awaiting execution, Keith Loker is a victim. His family, their lives devastated by a situation they cannot fully understand, are victims. Some of that family still clings to the "Message," looking for answers to their problems. Answers that will never come. Others, changed by the impact this had on their lives, fled the cult and never looked back. They remember the testimiony given in court, and will never forget the tragic events that inspired that testimony.

Leo Mercer, a self-proclaimed minister, ran the park. After Brother Branham's death in 1965, Mercer gradually became more authoritative, employing various forms of punishment. He would ostracize people from the community and separate families. Children were beaten for minor infractions like talking during a march or not tying their shoes. Mercer would punish girls by cutting their hair, and force boys to wear girls' clothing. There was also evidence that Mercer sexually abused children.
- People vs. Loker, S045060

Doris Scott, defendant's aunt, moved to the park in 1962 when she was 18, and left in 1975. At the time of her testimony, she had recently learned that Mercer had molested one of her sons. Hugh, her youngest son, was raised in the park and had trouble with violence as an adult. Doris turned her own anger inward, and tried to commit suicide twice.
- People vs. Loker, S045060

Cult members defend this situation by (ironically) comparing the cult's sexual misconduct to that of the Catholic Church. For years, the Catholic Church denied that there was a problem with the priests, and disgraceful situations were swept under the rug. But for the Catholic Church, those days are now far behind. The Catholic Church has reformed with regards to this type of issue, and there is no control of information. Members of the Catholic Church are made aware, and every precaution is put into place to prevent another incident.

Why has the "Message" cult not reformed? Why do they still control information? Has the Catholic Church progressed more into truth and righteousness than William Branham's following? Should Catholic priests teach cult pastors how to properly run their churches with regards to protecting their sheep?

William Branham's statements on Gene Goad and Leo Mercer and the "Park" Commune

You know what? That's a good thing. You just be salty; God will produce the thirst. If you...?... You just be salty. Brother Beeler, would you stand up just a moment? Brother Beeler is a personal friend of mine, an evangelist, a very dear brother, Brother Estle Beeler. And I think his wife and babies are on the ground here somewhere, very good friend. And usually, I have to preach when I come in; I don't get a chance. God bless you, Brother Beeler. Now, to someone else. Here is a friend of mine, Brother Leo Mercier. He's from up in Michigan. And he--he comes from that badger state, I believe, up there, 'course you can be forgiven for that, you know, from being from Michigan. And a very fine boy , him and Gene Goad, another chum, bosom friend... I call them my students. They're missionary boys, studying for missionary. They come along in the meetings and take tape recordings and so forth. You boys stand up just a minute: two fine, Christian brothers. This is Mr. Mercier here, and this is Mr. Goad here. And these fellows here come along and take--take tape recordings of the meetings. And they get their things cheap enough, that they don't... If anyone wants a recording, to find out just what taken place, see these men. They have them here. And if you have a tape recorder...
Branham, 55-0609

Now, let's everyone be reverent and if you're... Now, wait just a moment. I want to look through this audience of people. Do you out there that's in the prayer line, would you look this way just a minute? Each one of you, are you all strangers to me, everyone? If you are, raise up your hands, if you all are strangers. All right. Now, the only ones that I know in the--in the meeting are my associate here, Brother Wood, standing over here. Of course I know him. He's with us. He's the book salesman. Here sets Leo Mercier and Gene Goad down here, friends of mine with the my recorders. I... They bring; they have the tapes and so forth, and Brother Beeler here. I know him. He follows the meeting also, and Brother Thoms from South Africa.
Branham, 55-0604

I wish I could tell you what a feeling that's moving now. Not by feelings, but it's something a happening. This woman, standing right here, I've never seen her in my life, but she realizes something's taken place right now. Lady, I've never as much as looked at you, as far as I know, 'less I just motioning you over here. You realizing that something is just a little strange right now. Isn't that right? If it is, raise up your hand. See? What is it? You all seen that picture, I guess, tonight. The boys (I think), Leo and Gene brought some, the picture of the Pillar of Fire. That's what's settling right here, around here, right now. See? That's right. Moving in, just like someone else walking into you. That's what she feels. She's standing close to me
Branham, 55-0221

How wonderful He works. How He can do those things. Here some time ago, last year you Christian Businessmen packed the article. It's on my mind, I might as well tell it. Mr. Mercier and Mr. Goad is setting here this morning, was up on the...?... showing in nature. God moves in nature. Love conquers everything. And when love is projected, grace comes in to help it. Then it's real conquering love.
Branham, 56-0218B

Did you get that, Leo? Oh, I feel lots better now. I could just listen to that hours after hours. We got some recording boys down here, Brother Leo Mercier , and Brother Gene Goad; they take the recordings, and I was just so in hopes they was hooked up at that time and they got it. That's good. Oh, Brother Ekberg, you don't know, when I get real lonesome or something, I get back in the room and play them over. I'll--I'll live it all over again then. That's very fine. The Lord bless you kindly. Now, when I said, "Brother Mercier ," I seen him duck his head; he's kind of a bashful sort of a boy. He and Brother Gene here, they--they kindly... You've met them; they've been in pretty near all my meetings here. They kindly was going to play a FBI trick on me one time, when they first come into the meetings. They... Down in Hammond, Indiana, they seen those things going on; they said, "There's a trick to it somewhere. So we're going to find out."
Branham, 56-0407

So they slips down in Jeffersonville, and rented them a little place, and said, "I just wonder if that happens down around his home somewhere?" It happens a thousand to one at home, to what it does here. That's right. So they become what I say, "My students." And we very good friends. The Lord bless these boys. And now, remember tomorrow afternoon's service, I believe at two-thirty, is that right, Brother Joseph? [Brother Boze says, "Yes, and would it be possible, Brother Branham, that you could relate some of your visions? Relate this vision tomorrow afternoon?"--Ed.] I will do it. ["See, there's so many friends who wanted the paper, they would like to read it, but we are sold out completely."]
Branham, 56-0407

This morning... Let me tell you something. This morning, THUS SAITH THE LORD, my Bible over my heart, God my Judge, real early, I'd woke up, was walking in the room. I kept feeling Him near, just like a sixth sense. I didn't see It, but I knew He was there. I went and set down in a chair; I walked back and forth. I raised up to shave; the sun was shining in. I said, "Lord, what would You have me to do?" I kept waiting; nothing said nothing. I knelt down by the side of the bed; I begin praying. I said, "Lord, what would You have me to do? Is there something that Your servant should do this day?" Then come a vision, and He told me just what for the day, and what was going to take place through the day. I called up Gene, Leo (Mr. Mercier , and Mr. Goad; they're here tonight.), called my son to come to the room. I said, "I have a vision; this is THUS SAITH THE LORD. I'm going to a certain city today I've never been in in my life; we're going to meet a certain condition. And there's going to be a miracle take place that'll even have to change nature to do it. And a great healing's going to take place." And explained to them just what would take place.
Branham, 56-0421

The young fellow setting back there, taking recordings now, he asked me coming in, which is one of my brethren, Mr. Mercier . And he takes recordings of the Messages and the meetings, and his partner, Leo, and--and Gene back there... Leo said to me, coming in this morning, he said; "Brother Branham, which was first: faith produces love, or love produces faith?"
Branham,

I said, "Love produces faith, not faith, love." You have to love first, before you can have faith. So if you say you got faith, and don't Divinely love God, you're faith's in vain. See? You've got to love God.
Branham, 56-0603

Come back. God, leading His dear children. Oh, I just hate to stop, but I got to cut off. But do you believe God leads His children? Spirit led, Spirit filled... Why do you come in here? What'd you here for tonight? To be seen? Not in this hot place, you wasn't. You come for one purpose. The Holy Spirit led you here. God leads even His animal life. Do you believe that? Here not long ago, you might've heard it in the magazines. I love wild animals. And I was setting on my porch with my student ministers down here, Mr. Mercier and Mr. Goad, I, the tape boys. And they come up there and we talk.
Branham, 56-0615

The tapes, if you want any tapes, Brother Mercier and Brother Goad, right here, has every tape. They're making records also, for your record players. For any of the messages, anything you want, Brother Leo and Gene has them at the book stand each night. The concession stand, they're there. They are told by me to... just what they can barely sell them for, not no eight or ten dollars, but just a little bit (I don't know), what they pay for them. They're fine boys. They're my associates, and they'll tell the truth. And they'll do what's right. Now, be... You're more than welcome to them.
Branham, 57-0307

Now, I believe the boys give out some prayer cards. But I forgot just where... How many? One to fifty? All right. Prayer card... What letter was tonight? T? All right. My son gave out the prayer cards this afternoon. And he said that he gave out T-1 to 50. Now, we can't stand them all at once, 'cause there may be some that have to be packed up and so forth. And we'll just have to call them just a few at a time. So now, let's start from number 1 tonight. Maybe tomorrow night we might start from 20 or somewhere. We'll start from somewhere. But let's start from... Look through... It's little card and it's got my picture on it. And then on the other side, turn it over and it's got a "T" and a "1." And let's see who has that T-1, would you raise your hand? ...?... [Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]
Branham, 57-0104

Who has not heard the opossum story? As I close... It's went over the world. Last summer... Leo and Gene setting here, my two boys that takes the tapes... Brother and Sister Wood sets right out there. Leo and Gene is two fine boys that goes with in the meetings, one of Catholic family and the other one had formed a little FBI of their own. They were going to investigate me. And they did. And they've been going with me ever since, taking tape recordings. And they're fine Christian boys. And when they did, they were setting on the porch, and I call them my students. And I was teaching to them the love of God. Mr. Wood and Mrs. Wood--Mrs. Woods was a Church of God, and Mr. Wood was a Jehovah Witness. And they had a crippled boy that had his leg drawed up. And they come to the Louisville meeting, and they seen the Lord doing the work. Mr. Wood, a very well-known contractor all over northern Kentucky, he said, "I might've been a Jehovah Witness, but that's of God." So he goes to Houston, Texas, to the next meeting, and there's where the Angel of the Lord come down and had his picture taken. Mr. Wood and Mrs. Woods was present to see it.
Branham, 57-0126E

I just had a revelation the other day. How many's ever been in my meetings before, let's see your hand. Well, that's almost a complete hundred percent, just friends that's been in my meeting. I'm happy that you're here again tonight to be with you. The big thing that's been in my meetings; the people doesn't get prayed for. I have a very odd, unique ministry the Lord has given me by visions, as you all know. And I'm... It's been hard. I can't... But the other day when Mr. Mercier and Mr. Goad here, my tape boys, we were in Maine, up in Moosehead Lake, Maine. And I went from my room, in--from their room into my room. And I know, if you're Christian, you'd understand what I say. The Lord was in the room. I noticed, outside, the wind blowing in the big birch and evergreens, and seem like the wind came into the room, or either I went out to the wind. And then, all of a sudden, I recognized the Presence of God. And There He met me and revealed to me, and encouraged me, and told me that He would give me a way that I could use my ministry in this United States and Canada, through the North America. It's always been so hard. In Africa, just one of the supernatural miracle; over in India, why, my, just one time, that's all it needs, and everything there will raise up. I don't care what condition they're in, they'll make an effort. And they'll go the next day just believing that they're going to get well anyhow. And you never hear no more complaints. But in America, we've been taught laying on of hands. Now, I call this America because it is America. It's just North America, the continent. So we... And over here we've been taught laying on of hands, and the people just has to be personally contacted or they just don't get it right.
Branham, 57-0516

So the Lord has given me a revelation on what to do. Now, this will be my first time to ever pray for people in that way, beginning tomorrow night. And I'm... I trust that the Lord will bless the efforts that we put forth. Now, get on the phone tomorrow and call somebody, and get the sick and the afflicted out, and especially the sinner. Call up all your friends, that--that's sinner friends, and get them out to the meeting. Above everything, we want to see the sinner saved.
Branham, 57-0516

. . I'm going to change that tonight. Don't you pray for yourself; you get somebody else on your mind and pray for them. That ought to make it... You ask God for somebody else and not yourself. You ask for someone else and just start praying, saying, "Lord, somebody else to pray for." And believe with all your heart that God will grant it. And if God will grant it, then if you go out of here still disbelieving, I don't know... The Bible said, "Go ye and what no more?" Sin no more is right. What is sin? Unbelief. That's exactly right. "Go ye and sin no more, or a worse thing come upon you." Go and disbelieve no more.
Branham, 57-0518

Now, don't pray for yourself. I pray that God will not let me see people for themselves. It'll be for somebody else. We're just going to double it back tonight. Like He told Abraham He'd give him a son, then told him to go killing his son, destroy it so he could be father of nations. Now, in Christ's Name, be reverent. Now, I--I do see... You may raise your head and look this a way. I'm looking here at a woman. And she's setting right over this a way, as I see... But she's praying for herself. It's a woman... She's setting on the end of the seat, right over here. She's got a swelling in her body that she's praying for. That's right. Lady right on the end of the row there, that's right, isn't it, lady? Yea. Here, maybe you might know this. You're not from this city either, are you? You are from Edmonton, aren't you? If that's right, raise up your hand. See? Well, you're--you're healed anyhow. Your faith touched Him.
Branham, 57-0518

Have faith. Believe. Here--here's another lady setting next to her. No, it's the second from her. It's a woman... She's praying for somebody else. She's praying for a daughter. And that daughter is not in this city. She's from--she's from another city. And it is Regina that she's from. And she fell off of something; it look like it's a horse. And she hurt her back and neck. And you're praying for her. That's right, raise up your hand. See? I am not reading her mind. You stop thinking that. Now, don't think you can hide your life now, because you can't. I catch your--your thought. Certainly not.
Branham, 57-0518

And sometimes I think in knowing these things, that I ought to have a place where I could just settle down and start teaching, you know, and just--just keep it going like in... Now, in the churches now I don't get to go, just a few hours, and pray for the sick, and gone, and just pull, and just praying for the sick and... There's more besides praying for the sick in the Bible, you know. We have lots of things to--to do. I want to report the meeting in Canada, one of the best meetings we ever had in North America continent. I have never in my life, Mr. Mercier will be writing it up and them, seen anything happen like it did at the Canadian meeting.
Branham, 57-0602

So I got my son to come with me. I've got two trusted boys here, Mr. Mercier and Mr. Goad. And I know that they would never do a thing like that. And usually when Billy's along, my son, he gives out the prayer cards, unless he gets in a rush or has to do something, then Gene or Leo, one gives out the prayer cards. Therefore, it isn't the ministers, so that they could have some back-wash after he leaves, say, "Well, you went and give so-and-so a prayer card, you didn't give me one." See? There you are.
Branham, 57-0804A

So we do it with my own son, and usually they don't--they pick on him. Not like it would be if it would be a local minister. So those are giving out every day, so that every person, no matter if you come the first day, second day, third day, whatever meeting. Everybody has the chance to get a prayer card. How many thinks that's absolutely up-and-up and on right? Everybody.
Branham, 57-0804A

Last summer, Mr. Mercier here, Mr. Goad which is here also, and many of the--the--some of the campaign party that's not with me now, we were setting on my front steps. There'd been a--a Negro girl... It was in the paper that morning, a lovely, beautiful-looking, colored girl. And she had had a baby illegitimately born. And she'd took this baby, and smothered it in some blankets, wrapped some wire around it, and hired a cab. And she went out on the Ohio bridge and looked off, and like she was going to throw a bundle over, and she threw the baby in the river. The ta--cab driver reported it back to the authorities; they seined it out and found it was a baby.
Branham, 57-0806

Mr. Mercier here and Mr. Goad, I call them my student ministers. If you ever knew who they was, one's a Catholic and the other one (I think) is a steam-fitter. And they made themself a little FBI to come find out if these visions were right, and come in town posing as somebody else. And the Lord revealed it all to them right there. And they become friends of mine. And they were setting on the porch and I was teaching them. I said, "That woman isn't a mother. A mother wouldn't do a thing like that. No, sir." I said, "She's a female that gave birth to a baby, but she's not a mother. A mother's a greater name than that."
Branham, 57-0806

And now I come home just for a little rest. I lost twenty pounds, in this last meeting. And Brother Mercier and Brother Goad was up, a while ago, and said, "Brother Branham, I notice what you do. You put your whole heart into it."
Branham, 57-0821

Now, anybody want a Bible to study by? If you do, raise up your hand. We... I think we got three or four back here. If you want to study by the Scripture, all right. Brother Cox, will you come and get these Bibles? And it--it's good for you, if you can, to... (There's one, and I guest... You just take them on down if you want to, that and...?...) And anybody that wants one, just hold up your hand; the boy will bring them right to you. See? And we want to study these together, and just... Now, on this reading and the last chapters... The first seven chapters of the Book of Hebrews... After teaching, 'course the boy who taken these down, these subjects, Brother Mercier and Brother Goad, has got them and now fixing to publish them in book form. And they got it. Now, and we have nothing like halfway combed; we just scratched the surface. And I think they've termined them, as taken the nuggets out of the--and just polishing the nuggets, just a few of the nuggets of the teaching of Hebrews. Brother Mercier will have them pretty soon in print, anybody wants them.
Branham, 57-0925

I just want to take a little short subject tonight, the Lord willing, and I don't know... You know, evangelists sometimes when they're busy through the day with interviews and people coming, going, sometimes you don't even get a chance to look at the Bible. And I just picked up a little piece of paper awhile ago that I had wrote something on, that I had talked on before, somewhere, I don't know. But I thought I would use it for a text tonight. Maybe it hasn't been in Chicago. And now, the tape boys are here, my boys, Brother Leo Mercier and Gene. And now, they have the tapes here for sale. And as I was saying the other night, we don't sell them on Sunday. And through the week is when you have to buy them. And I'm sure, these boys... I've knowed them for years. They were some of my, kind of a converts when they... These two young man, one being formerly out of a Catholic home and the other... I don't know just where Brother Gene come from, what his people were, perhaps Methodists or something. And they come down to the meeting just to get a general conception of it. And the Lord spoke to them.
Branham, 58-0107

They followed on down to my home just as a little FBI outfit of their own to find out if those visions happen anywhere but in the meeting. And it just happened to be that the Lord just simply did some great things right there in the--when they were present to see it, and I have called them my students: Fine boys, real, real Christian brothers. And I've learned to love those boys, and they're honest and square. And they wanted to go along, something in the meeting, and I let them go and take the tapes, 'cause we had no one who really took them and any official one, and so they went to take the tapes and wanted to know if they could...
Branham, 58-0107

[Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]... desire to have these tapes of tonight's service, just write to Leo Mercier , Jeffersonville, Indiana. How do you spell your name Leo, last name? M-e-r-c-i-e-r. The tapes are sold almost at cost. Three dollars and something, I believe: Three dollars even. And Leo Mercier , Jeffersonville, Indiana. He's... And Gene Goad here is the tape boys, the official tape boys of the campaign. And they taken this position so that they could go around in the meeting. They are my brothers and my friends in the Gospel. Mr. Goad here is right from your city, or close to it here. Mr. Mercier was formerly in a Catholic from up here in Michigan somewhere, I believe. They formed their little FBI party and come down to find out whether that gift was true or not. They found it, as the Lord always does. And now, they've been with me for some time. How long you been along, Brother Mercier ? Four years. Found them to be real, honest boys, right on the mark. And so, just write to them for the--for the tapes if you desire them for your tape machines. All right. 1, 2, 3, 4. Who has prayer card number 5? What was that number now again? D, D-number-5. Anyone have it, raise up your hand. Lady. Number-6, who has D-number-6? The gentlemen. Number-7? Quickly now if we can see your hands so... 7, 8?
Branham, 58-0112E

Now, tonight would be the last night on the tapes. You people that have tape machines and like to hear your name and what the Spirit said to you in the line... Brother Mercier here is one of my associates in the meeting. He's a--a recorder and Brother Goad; they tape these tapes and the books and so forth. Now, tomorrow they won't have them, because we've never permitted them to sell or do any transaction of business like that on Sunday. So, we'd be glad if you'd take care of that tonight if you desire them.
Branham, 58-0208

I wish to read from the Bible tonight, in the book of Revelations, you who are taking the text down each night. And now, we will not be letting the tapes go tonight, but you may obtain the tapes if you wish, just--I think they sell for about three dollars apiece. Is that right? And you know how cheap that is. I just sent to another evangelist, and bought a tape, and it cost me nine dollars for the tape. We've got the same tape for three dollars, just a little bit over the cost. And if you don't know the boy's address... What is your box number there? 315 Jeffersonville. Write to Leo Mercier , 315, Jeffersonville, Indiana, and they'll send you any tape that they want. And they have some--oh, hundreds of sermons, on tapes and prayer lines and so forth, you'd like to check back to see what the Lord said to you in the prayer line.
Branham, 58-0302

Then I sent some men down to pass out the prayer cards, and I caught one selling the prayer cards. That settled that. Then I put my son in for him to give out prayer cards, for I knew he wouldn't... Or my friends here, Leo Mercier or Gene Goad, which are my tape boys... And, or any of them can give out cards. Otherwise... When I have a minister then his own denomination was--he had to pull strings...?... had to do it. So then I took my own son. He give out the cards, just a little square card with a number on it. You can take it and be lined up according to number. And in this, then we'd have this, if he give them out a number a past twenty-five or thirty they'd throw it on the floor. "We don't want that. It won't be called."
Branham, 58-0312

The boys now have the tapes, and this will be the last night that they'll be able to sell them. Anything to be sold has to be finished tonight, because we don't sell on Sunday. We just make... I've always made that a policy, that we would not sell on Sunday. All the tapes... They have some five hundred messages from sometimes when we wasn't hoarse in great healing lines. Mr. Mercier has them back there at the stand wherever it is. I said back there--at the front. And you may obtain them. They sell them real cheap. I ordered a tape here some time ago from an evangelist, and it cost around nine dollars. The boys sell theirs, I think it's for three. And they just barely make enough that they can stay out in the service with me. This Mr. Mercier and Mr. Goad, one of them was Catholic, and the other one I don't know... I don't believe he belonged to any church, Gene. And they formed themself a little FBI to come down and find out whether those visions happened at home or not. You only see one side. You see the little side of it here. It's home when the real visions take place. This is what you're doing here with your own faith. At home is what God does. Out somewhere when we are to ourselves, or out fishing, or somewhere when we have a little time of recreation.
Branham, 58-0329

Tonight is the closing service, and I might announce that my good friend here, Brother Leo Mercier , which come from a Catholic, French Canadian Catholic home. He and Mr. Goad... I don't know just what Mr. Goad's formal religion was. And when the meeting was in a certain city, they were there. And they felt like that these visions... (Wonder if they happened at my house?) so they formed themselves a little "FBI agent" and come down to find out what it was true or not. You should hear the testimony. They have become friends of mine. This here is just minor. They are with me now as my official tape boys for books and tapes.
Branham, 58-0508

I'm so sorry to keep you late, it's ten o'clock. I'm sorry to be this late. How many loves the Gospel? I never claimed to be a preacher. I'm just kind of a spare tire, and I've--you use a spare tire when you got a flat. But we haven't got a flat. You see that. But we've got plenty of good tires, but I--I've come to just speak. And it's the first time I've had this kind of a meeting for some time. But I was struck today when my--one of my associates, Mr. Mercier , was telling me that people were sleeping in these bushes around here, waiting for prayer service. Is that true? How many come for a healing service, let's see your hands? And come, wanted me to pray for you? Raise up your hand.
Branham, 58-0611

I believe last night we called, in the prayer cards, from number 1, did we not last night? What's the...? What? "M," let's start from... Let's start from 50 then tonight. Who has a prayer card... Look at it, and it's got a M on it, like Matthew where I was preaching from? M, Mary, M-50, raise up your hand, M-50. Way back, a lady way back towards the back. All right, come over here, lady, to my right. M-51, raise up your hand. All right, over here. M 52, right here, over here. 53, M-53, would you raise your hand? Is this the lady right here? M-53? Go right over here, lady. M-54, the man? 55, M-55, would you raise your hand? All right, your place over here; 56, M-56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 60 to 65. I don't see but about three standing, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, in M, let them stand; 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, in M. Now, if I get... You notice, usually Brother Vayle, usually watches me, and Billy Paul, my boy, Mr. Goad setting here, and Mr. Mercier , they watch me. I don't know when the anointing strikes, I don't know how tired I am, but they've been with me so long, they know when I've got enough; they run in and pat me on the side. That's to let me know that I've gone far enough.
Branham, 58-0620

Now, interviews are fixed. Anybody that wants to see me, perfectly all right. If you'll call BUtler 2-1519, just look in the telephone directory and find William Branham, BUtler 2-1519, arrangements will be made for interviews. [Telephone number has been changed. Call Branham Tabernacle--Ed.] And it'll be put down just exactly the time and the place to do. Now, I can meet every person, be with them, help them with their problems and things, but I can't just go and stay a day with one, and four or five hours with this one, and next day miss the whole thing. We have so much time. We ask them what they want and how much time, and bring it right down. And we see every person. We got that... And the man that answers the phone will be Mr. Mercier here or Mr. Goad setting right there. And they'll fix that right on the book exactly for the interviews, and I'll see every person. If it's a special case, if it's during time for the prayer service now for the sick, bring your sick and afflicted in and let them listen a night or two.
Branham, 58-0928M

Now, remember, anybody wants the appointments, just call Mr. Mercier here: Butler 2-1519. We'll be glad to see you. If your loved ones come in and have to hurry out during the time of the revival, now I'm going from tonight to go to myself and be gone for two days now to myself. I just get in there and go to studying like this: "Lord, You're near me. I know You're here. Your Word said You'd draw nigh unto them that draw nigh unto You." I keep praying and watching till I see that Pillar of Fire begin to move. I know it's ready then. Then I walk in to the platform for the healing service to pray, to do what I can to help the sick and afflicted.
Branham, 58-0928E

Now, the baptismal service... And now the--the appointments and things... Now, this is continually after the meeting. If any time you're coming back for private interview, or so forth, just call the agent, Brother Mercier here. We have to have some sort of a set up that we have to. We know that. And Brother Mercier , he gets them down. He puts them down just as they come. And as soon as I run out of appointments, all of them run out. I... When I come in, I call him up and tell him, "I'm finished on that group." He gives me a new group, and away I go again. You see? Then it all works out of that office. And he knows just how to set them up so he can get each one in that can get in. You see? So we're very happy to have this little office operating the way it is. So that's just Butler 2-1519, and that's... Or if you call Jeffersonville, just call for me, and they'll answer there at that office. And thank you very kindly.
Branham, 58-1005M

He going to be a minister too? All right. And what's his name? John Michael Dalton . Now, you know I've got a little cowboy back there just about your size, little John Michael. Well, that's fine. His father here is a minister, I believe that's right. Are you a Baptist minister? Lay member of the Baptist church. I see. Let us pray. Lord, we bring to You this little lad. I don't know what I'm holding in my arms. Neither did the mother know when it was born, and his little hands stroked her face, or of the dad who swelled his chest to know he had a son. God, I pray that this child will be to the honor and glory of Jesus Christ. We bring him to You now in dedication by prayer for consecration, that You'll use his little life for Your glory. For we dedicate him to You in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Bless you. A fine boy...
Branham, 59-0329M

This little fellow? Was this sister Dalton ? Robert Anthony. Sister Dalton . Well, I'm a glad to meet you, Sister Dalton . I knowed your husband real well; I guess I've seen you. This is Robert Lee? What? Robert Anthony. All right. Oh, hey, My. Southern grits didn't do that to him. He's a fine boy, nice looking little fellow. Let us pray. Lord, we bring to You this little boy for dedication, that the mother has brought him and the father. And we pray that You'll consecrate his little life, Lord, to Your service. May he live and be a great man, strong, physically, spiritually. Grant it, Lord. And now, we dedicate him to You in the Name of Jesus Christ God's Son. Amen. Congratulations to you for two fine boys. I hope they're both are preachers, if the Lord tarries.
Branham, 59-0329M

But in the services, I'm almost prone to... In my healing services, I've been noticing that if I just pray for the sick, it's so much better. And I'm... A lot of the discernment, it dropped on me last evening here. But I'm using most of that on these private interviews. I find it's so much greater, because I have the person by myself. And then, Mr. Mercier , which is the man who's the answering service at the--the house.
Branham, 59-0612

But we're seeing that every prayer cloth is put in. I pray over it. Every prayer request is called in; it's immediately given to me. And we got it just on the dot. So, if you need prayer, urgent prayer, and you want me to pray for you, my staff to pray for you... Not only the staff, but they bring it to me. Maybe if I'm not at the answering service, I don't call... It's put right down reverently, and given to me immediately as soon as they can get to me, and I go right straight to prayer for them. And sometimes, they bring in sheets of it. And I take that and go to my--go into my basement maybe. I've got a--like a den room there. I take one with my finger like this, and start praying till I feel the Holy Spirit's there. And I say, "God, here's Sister Sam Jones. She says here it's got cancer. Oh, God, she's dying. Please, in Jesus' Name, hear my prayer. Here's Brother So-and-so. He's got a tumor. He's in a hospital. God, please be merciful to him and spare his life." Each one, right down the row. As Brother Mercier types them off and sends them to Brother Goad, right straight to me... I get to them off to myself.
Branham, 59-0612

So then tomorrow--tomorrow night is a evangelistic service with water baptism service. And then, as soon as I get through preaching tomorrow night, we'll pull back the curtains and have water baptism here tomorrow night. If the Lord willing--if the Lord is willing, in the morning I want--or tomorrow night I want to speak on the subject: "A--A Sign Was Given." And then, if we're here Wednesday night, if the Lord permits me to be here Wednesday night, I want to speak on the subject: "We Have Seen His Star in the East and Have Come to Worship Him." Now, that's just ere Christmas eve. And then, immediately after Christmas is Christmas holiday week. There's where we take all of the letters. Brother Mercier and them usually gets them all out. And we lay them all out, and we pray over these letters and ask the Lord to lead us to whereabouts through the world that we'll be going.
Branham, 59-1219

Brother Mercier , you're coming to my rescue. You going to help me? [Brother Mercier answers--Ed.] Oh, you're coming... He's coming to his own rescue. I talked to your girlfriend today. Now, you better be real good to me. All right. That's good. I--I admire that courage, Brother Leo. When it's not right, let's--let's get it as right as we know how to get it, the best that we can.
Branham, 59-1219

And--and so, Brother Mercier and Brother Gene Goad back there with the recorders... Just now, Brother Mercier said he got the best out of the meeting of where we explained that--that when that Holy Spirit came into the meeting and--and broke Itself up, and God dividing Himself amongst His people. Well, that's just what It does.
Branham, 59-1223

SIRS.WE.WOULD.SEE.JESUS_  TIFTON.GA  SATURDAY_    E-64    Now is the time that something has to happen. Preaching's all right, but will it work? It'll work if Christ comes, for He's duty-bound to His Word. I suppose there's not a person in here I know, outside of Brother Welch, setting here, and his wife. And I've got two good brothers in here: Brother Leo Mercier (He's somewhere here in the building.) and Brother Gene Goad, setting here. Precious boys that goes with me wherever I go, making tapes and so forth. And if you want the tapes, see Brother Mercier ; he kindy takes care of it. Brother Goad takes the tapes; Brother Mercier has the selling of them, which is just a--quite a margin, just so they can barely live. Two precious boys...
Branham, 60-0109

This tape is being made for the Kingdom of God, as I am presenting it to Brother Lee Vayle for a manuscript. Brother Vayle has asked me, here in the presence of Brother Mercier , to--to give some of the former visions. Of course, visions was... Now, one of the first things I can remember is visions coming. Visions come all the time, but after my conversion is where I think you were interested in, Brother Vayle.
Branham, 60-0930

Now, now, tonight, we're going to read this letter right quick, because I have some--some information historically we want to get to first and try not to keep you too long. Now, at the... After these services is over, any time that I read this too fast, if you want to get the application of it, Brother Mercier here has it all; I hand the notes right to him; and he could, 'cause he's writing on the book; he'd give you any of the you know you--you want on it. That'd be all right, Brother Mercier .
Branham, 60-1207

Day before yesterday, setting up at the place, there was a group of people, some of them here now. Was, a little lady drove up out front. There was five or six people inside, and there was a lady drove up out front in a trailer. A man come to the door, and said, "Brother Branham, I hate to come over that sign there," but said, "we're just passing through and wanted to say..." I said, "Come in." And--and I said... "No," said, "my wife just wants to testify, to tell you something that happened." Well, she happened to be a good friend to Sister Mercier ; Brother Leo here, one of our brethren here at the church, one of the tape men, his mother.
Branham, 60-1218

But last week, the reason I was expressing the way I did, there was more than politics included. I'd like to read you a prophecy that was given. I got on... And many... By the way, Mr. Mercier and many of them are going to take some of these old prophecies, and dig them out, and revise them a little, or bring them up to date, and put them in papers. I'd like to read some things that I'd like for you to--to... This one first. I'd like to read something to you.
Branham, 60-1113

And another thing, the books are not for commercial; they're to try to help somebody. The boys sells the tapes down there. And here some time ago, I checked up on the boys, Gene and Leo . Gene's my tape boy ; Leo is my field secretary. And they have records and tapes, and I checked those boys myself to see what price they're selling those tapes for, 'cause I bought a tape from a--an evangelist. It cost me around six dollars. Then I... They're getting two dollars and something for them. So I seen what they paid for them, and they're just a... Barely a little margin's all they make. And they get (I told them) get the best tape they could get, and they use it on Scotch tape . They have those tapes--any message or anything...
Branham, 60-0612

Woods was present to see it.

nd Mrs. And while I was there on the platform, and just having prayer, I thought that a plane was coming over. And I looked around to Dr. Vayle here, and he thought the woman had--had reversed the--the air through the pipe organ or something. And it sound like a thundering coming somewhere, like a thunder roaring, coming at a distance. Billy jumped up. And I looked over to Brother Mercier here (which is the tape boy , and he and Brother Goad, and my son, and them give out the prayer cards.), he thought he'd done something. And he'd seen me look at him. He said his heart was about to fail. He didn't know what it was. Then all of a sudden coming right through the building, come like a--a wind, only it wasn't a wind, it was a rumble like a wind, and just shook down, and went out over the audience, and you see them turning white as it just waved over the audience, just a repeat like Pentecost, like a rushing mighty wind. So...
Branham, 58-0207

[Blank.spot.on.tape--Ed.]... that I know outside of Mr. Mercier setting here, my tape boy . Mr. Goad's here somewhere; I don't know where he is.
Branham, 57-0804E

So then, we couldn't do that. So then I said, "Well, I'll tell you what we'll do. We'll give the prayer cards out every day, the same way, cause that's just, and I'll take a little kid off the front row, and let them count, and wherever they start counting, we'll start from there." Believe it or not, mama put junior up there, stopped right at her number. We're still dealing with human beings. That wouldn't work. So then, the way we got to doing it, we sent down the prayer cards every day. The boys... I got three here that can give them out. The three--the two tape boys, Gene and Leo, and Billy. The ministers don't, because if they do, they'd cause hard feelings if they don't get to their minister friends. These are two boys that's with the meeting. They come down before the people and mix them cards all up, every one of them. Give anybody a card that wants; the boy don't know where these line's going to start from. The man don't even know what prayer he's getting when they come out. And so, that way, at night time, I don't know. No one could know anything. When we come, wherever the Lord puts on my mind, I start from there.
Branham, 58-0625

With Brother duPlessis and his most outstanding message of how he brings the Scripture in, I'm sure you're appreciating, Brother duPlessis, which is to be with us the continuing the week. My boy is here... I call them my boys. They're a tape artists. And they sell the books. Now, those books we buy; they're not ours. We buy those books at forty cents off, and then haul them out, and sell them to the people just so the message gets out. Mr. Lindsay prints that book. And the boys make tapes. These two boys, Mr. Mercier and Mr. Goad are fine boys. They been with me now for sometime. One of them was a Catholic; the other one I don't believe he belonged to any church.
Branham, 59-0412E

And up in Indiana where I had a great meeting, these boys come in and seen that discernment, so they said, "That's fraunty; that's just a bogus; that's a hoax; that's all it can be." So they said, "We'll expose that fellow. So they made themself a little FBI. Mr. Mercier was a bartender. Mr. Goad was a steam fitter, I believe, or an engineer. So they got together and formed a little FBI, and growed a great big long beard, and came down to my house, and passed through saying, "Mr. Branham we are evangelists. We're on our road down in the south." I said, "That's nice, I'm glad to meet you boys, so forth." Instead of that they went down into the city, and got them a little room, and rented this room, and went asking around the people if those visions were real. They were going at it real technique. So they... After being there for a couple weeks, they came back. Said, "We're on our road back from down south again; we're just dropping by," Mr. Mercier with a great big beard.
Branham, 59-0412E

And it happened to be they hit there just at the wrong time; the Angel of the Lord was in the room. So It said, "Mr. Mercier, why would you try to call your name something else, you and Mr. Goad?" And it just really laid them right on the floor. I've called them my students since then. And they took right up, go into the meeting. And they wanted something that they could do along the meeting. I didn't have very much to do, because I've never let my campaign get to a place to where I can't go to the littlest church, the humblest people. I've just held a revival in a church that held twenty people. Now, if I had a great big expense, I couldn't do that. But I don't want it to get like that. I've always said, "I never want to be great; I want to be honest."
Branham, 59-0412E

Now, reading this letter from Jamaica, as our precious Brother Smith has so graciously did, the two letters... Just reminds me of when we were there. W--you might know that the... (Hope of Faith, is that what the... You're paper's name?) "The Herald of Hope." That paper did one of the greatest advertising jobs that we had in Jamaica. Brother Smith was well--better known than anybody on the Island, be--hardly, because of the--the paper. Your paper has a great influence, and packs a--a--a great thing for the Lord wherever it goes. I held my hand awhile ago, because it's sent to me. It's certainly a grand paper. May God let it travel to the four corners of the earth and do great work.
Branham, 59-0415A

Long live this church, and may the Spirit never leave it. Don't never compromise with the things of the world. Keep that. If you have to be so poor that there's just six of you left, stay right with that Spirit. See? Just leave that... Just stay right with that worship. You know, today we have so many different programs, and so many announcements, and so much that just takes up the time. And it takes away that feeling of worship. But I was speaking to Brother Mercier, and I said, "Just... You can just relax. Just don't make any effort, just--just feel like it's something..." I think it would be good for this nervous neurotic world just to enter into places like this. It would be healing for them, just to quieten.
Branham, 59-0415A

Today's been a terrible day for me, and so many calls, and so forth, and--and the phones are ringing everywhere, and... And I was--walked in here, Brother Mercier said, "I can tell you're nervous." And I said, "Who wouldn't be."
Branham, 59-0415A

I seen some great healings take place down there at that breakfast. Now, my tape boy here, one of them, Mr. Mercier--his mother had come down from--from her home up in Michigan. I never seen the woman. And she was setting in the meeting, and I knew it not. But he was setting over there praying for his mother, and if the Holy Spirit didn't come over and call that woman out right there at the breakfast and healed her of a--a affliction she'd had for years and years and years.
Branham, 59-0417

And then when I was turn--I said, "Don't..." And Something said to me, "Say what you will, and it'll be done." I stood there. Mr. Mercier, the tape boy , and all of them standing, Brother Fred, and many of them standing present, the perspiration was just running from me. Something said, "Say, 'Blindness,' it'll be blind. Say, 'Death,' and they'll pack them out. Say what you will." I couldn't speak. I couldn't move. And it just left. I thought, "God, what--what must I do?" And I turned, and he stood there, and his face white, looking at me. I thought, "What must I say?" Then I turned, and looked like, before I knowed what I'd said, I said, "I forgive you of your act."
Branham, 59-1123

Now, God, as we have taught Him that He is infinite. And Brother Gene, I hope you're getting this tape ; it'll be short, but catch it please. That's my--one of my precious brothers, the tape boy . God is infinite. We all believe that. And when God says anything, it must forever be that way.
Branham, 59-1125

And now, let me bring something else. I haven't got it written here, but on magnetic tape (And this is taped too.)... In 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, standing at the--that sch--Lane Tech High School (They were there.), I said, "This year is going to be the changing point of America. I've just come from overseas--don't know why I come. Come back; canceled my meetings in Africa and around--come back." Billy Graham, something mysterious, he canceled his. Tommy Osborn canceled his. And we all crossing the United States in meetings. I said, "America will either receive or reject Christ this year." Then I said, "When they elected in Indiana, a twenty-two year boy --year old boy to be judge," the Spirit of the Lord came on me and I said, "They'll finally have a president that'll be one of these crew cut, playboy, beatnik-type presidents, a lady's man." Now, them's predictions years ago. See where we're at? It's later than we think.
Branham, 60-1113

Watch. Are you ready? Listen. Keep this now, just remember, to let you know. (Gene, you can hold this tape .) Listen. (No, I don't have to hold it there; that's all right.) I mean just keep the tape ; permit this to the church. Notice this. Now, that you might know that the color of the Light that's with the Lord, and the Lord's Light that follows the Lord, and this is the Lord, is amber, yellowish green. That's the same color of the Light that's with us today, as the scientists has took Its picture: yellowish green, amber. When a little boy , and I seen It for my first time, you remember, the old-timers here. I always told you before the actual picture was taken, "It was yellowish green, which is amber." Now, to let you know that the Spirit of the Lord...
Branham, 61-0101

And to think, here I am in this building tonight. There's not a soul here that I know, that I can look at and see, but my tape boy setting right here, Brother Goad. He's the only person I know. God knows every one of you. Now, I am not Him. He's here, though. And now, we can't call all them prayer cards at one time. And I'd just like for them to come just a few at a time, as they call, or wait a minute. I'm sure he said he give out cards. Where is Billy? Where? Oh, excuse me. Yes. A-1 to a 100? All right. Let's begin at 1, number 1 then. Who has prayer card A-number-1. I'll call them, so we can pack those that's in the wheelchairs and get them...
Branham, 61-0205E

And so, you--you notice when Jesus Himself died... See, there's three parts of the body. A soul... Three parts of us, soul, body, and spirit, as you seen the seven church ages; I had it drawed out: five entrances to the body, see, taste, feel, smell and hear, and conscience, and so forth to the soul. And--and then to the spirit, there's one avenue: that's the--your own free moral agency, that's make a decision. You see? You can turn it down or--or you can accept it. And so now, when a person accepts Christ and is saved, your whole household, your whole family, every family of the earth will be saved. Now, when... or go in.
Branham, 61-0808

And Brother Stricker... [A brother says, "We desire the prayers of all of you. We're trying to get a church started down at North...?..."--Ed.] Oh, I hope you get it. We'll pray for you. ["Doing very well, so far."] That's right. Billy, when you going to start pastoring? Doctor Goad and Doctor Mercier here, I--I--I hope... As we call one another that. And Brother Goad has got to a place till I... He really deserves a title; he can load shells now. Yeah. Well, he's... And--and Brother Leo, I believe we can just let him go at that like that, and call him--let him continue his title of--of Doctor. Well, "Doctor" Branham, back there, you just keep her doctored up real good, and the lights burning real good. And--and I'll tell you what, whenever we have a special meeting I'll talk to the board and see if they can't give you a little extra on that [Brother Branham laughs--Ed.], for special work when you have to do so much sweeping and carrying in and out, and that'll make you happy.  596-538    Doctor Wood... I called him Doctor; I guess you wonder why. I don't misname him, he just butchers wood all to pieces, you know. The Lord will grow a pretty tree, and he will cut it down and make a house out of it. I've never seen such as that, so I have to call him Doctor.
Branham, 61-0112

Now, here's the same thing in an amateur way like Jesus did: speak to the woman. Day before yesterday there was a man come up to my house and stood there, and he said... I started out the gate. I was going to send him over to the office to Brother Mercier and them. He said, "Brother Branham?"
Branham, 61-0117

In the Gospel reading tonight, just for a short time now before we start to--the prayer line to pray for the sick... Now, my son, or Mr. Goad over here, or Mr. Mercier , three of my associates in the ministry--or perhaps Brother Moore, some of them will be at the church each evening to give out prayer cards,
Branham, 61-0118

Did you read the Scripture for me? I've been asked to speak on the subject, or I said myself that I would, rather, upon the subject of the "Mark of the Beast" and the "Seal of God." Now, it's a great subject. And I think that we may not get through it tonight, maybe have to carry it over until tomorrow night. And those that's got interviews now, I believe Mr. Mercier said we was to begin at eight o'clock in the morning.
Branham, 61-0216

If I can send you a prayer cloth any time, just write to me; my secretary here, that's present now, Brother Maguire... How many's ever got a prayer cloth from us? Let's see your hand. Stand up Brother Jim. I want to see you, you and your wife too. Here's my secretary and his wife, the ones that works to send. That's the boy and girl that sends you your prayer cloth from the meeting, both consecrated Christians. And the voice, that sweet little voice you hear on the phone when you call me, that's the little lady setting there, his wife. Her father and mother and them, are here with us today; and--and the loved ones, all around. So... And then you know my field secretary, Mr. Mercier , Brother Leo Mercier , he's here somewhere, and Brother Gene Goad. And so if we can send you a prayer cloth, any time, or anything we can do, pray for you on the phone; anything we can do, we'll do it.
Branham, 61-0319

And everything that we do is free of charge. Now, I'm not trying to get your address. I don't... As I say, I've got... Well, my secretary, he does my work. I don't know whether... Are you here, Jim, today? I don't know whether he got over or not. His father-in-law's here, I think, and his mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sothmann. They're here; his wife is--answers the phone; Brother Jim does the typing. Brother Leo Mercier does the field work. He was here just a moment of ago, his associate here. They... These boys work for the Branham Tabernacle, which I'm associated with, which is a independent sovereign church, chartered at Jeffersonville in Clark County. And it's a nonprofit foundation, and the money that comes into the church and so forth, is--goes into the foreign fields to sponsor poor people who doesn't have the money to send for me to come over there, but yet they need me real bad. And I take that money, as soon as they get enough built up and go over to the foreign fields to preach to those this same Gospel that you have a privilege of seeing. And therefore, I know as a steward of His money, I'm going to have to answer for it at the day of the judgment.
Branham, 61-0416

Now, I spoke this twice already, and this is the third time approaching this same message, because it's so timely. And I'm titling this... And if you miss it, it'll be on tape. If you got a tape recorder, why, the boys will send you the tape. And now, just write to them. I guess they--you know their address and so forth. If you don't, why, just write to me there, it'll be run over in their box. And they are a foundation of their own; they're the Audio Mission" at Jeffersonville. And two fine boys, Mr. Mercier and Mr. Goad... And I guess you've heard their story how they become associates of mine, was because they come there to try to expose me, formed themselves a little FBI. They were coming there and didn't think that them visions were true. And come there investigating around, acting like they were ministers, and the Holy Spirit uncovered their life right before them. So they have become my associates. One of them a Catholic, a French Catholic, Mr. Mercier , just ere his conversion was a bartender. Mr. Goad setting here, I believe formerly, was a--from people from the Methodist church, wasn't your people? Backslidden Nazarene.
Branham, 61-0416

Was you a worked in a office somewhere, didn't you, Brother Goad, in a--in Gary, Indiana. A bartender and an office boy, a backslidden Nazarene and a Roman Cath--and a French Canadian Catholic, together to expose me... And I'd... If I'm doing anything wrong, I want to be exposed. I--I--I--I want to be right now. This is the time to make it right, not after I get over there. Let's get it right now. I found them to be a real gentleman, honest, real boys. When they asked me if they could make tapes... They have to have something to live by. Mr. Mercier's married now. Mr. Goad's in the making. If there's any young ladies that... If his face isn't red now... Gene, I just did that so if would be a change from getting myself so that I could get back to the steps. I'll witness he's a fine man. He's my buddy, a real brother.
Branham, 61-0416

If we go talking about a resurrected Christ and a promise of showing Himself among us (See?), then... Now, that puts something else. Now, here He comes here and can tell you what you have been, or what's wrong with you, or what you're desiring, or something like that, something that you know and know that I do not know; and know me being a man, would have no way of knowing it. Then that shows if He knows what you have been, He knows what you will be. Is that right, audience? See? Now--now, just real reverent. She's a fine person. But I'm... come to you so tired. I've been six months on the field till I'm just about to... Brother Mercier met me awhile ago, said, "Brother Branham, you look like you just about to faint and fall over." I said, "I am." See? Six months of this. Sometimes twenty and thirty visions of a night, till it's just--just killing me.
Branham, 61-0519

I asked Brother Mercier to bring up some of the testimony of the vision that the Lord gave me just recently. I want to call it a vision, because I'm a little reluctant on saying something else. Because it would sound like I was trying to impersonate a--a great apostle, Paul, who was caught up into the--the third heaven. But I was laying on the bed when it happened and had slept well through the night. And I've had many visions, as we know, but this wasn't like any I ever had. But I was always a little afraid of dying. I love people so much till I thought... Not being afraid that I wasn't saved, but I--I did not want to be a spirit. I wanted to be a man all the time, and so when I was... Wherever I was, it wasn't far away, another dimension somewhere.
Branham, 61-0520

My associates with me here, around... I see Brother Mercier , and Brother Roy Borders, and Brother Neville, and Billy Paul, my son; and Gene's here somewhere, and the brethren, Teddy and them. I appreciate all these people who come to help me. I remember here not long ago, Brother Leo, a--a vision that he had--dream, he called it--one night when we first met, that he saw a great pyramid peak, way up in the air. And I was up there preaching somewhere, and he climbed up to see what it was all about. And when he got up there on top this peak, why, he said, way off in kind of a silver-looking light, like a platter, I was standing preaching to the people. And he attracted my attention, and I looked around to him, and he said, "How did you ever get out there? How could I get out there?" I said, "Leo, no one can come out here. God has to take a man here. Now, you're not to come up here. You're to go down and witness to those people down there, after you've seen it, that it's the Truth, that that is the Truth." Leo climbs back down to witness to the people. How long ago has that been, Brother Leo? Several years, hasn't it? Several years. Since then, as far as I know, he's been faithful in doing that: witnessing to the people that the ministry comes from God. Now, and I--I do not want it to come from me. If it is from me, then it's no good, because there's no good in a man. See? It has to come from God.
Branham, 61-0806

And I got a little switch here, supposed to be somewhere, that censor, censor what I didn't want. Oh, here we are. This is it. What I want on tape, and what you don't want on tape. So brethren, if your tape's a little messed up, well, don't... You can cut that part out. Now, but in there, that way, so many taking, when Brother Mercier and them had the only ones who could take tapes, why, I'd have them to censor them out there before I'd let them go out. But in this, anybody can take them now (You see?) anybody that wants to take them can take them. And so I have to censor them myself from this switch right here, what I don't want to say, or let go out over the tapes.
Branham, 61-1210

Just a little testimony for Brother Evans back there, that I'd like to make it, if it's all right with you, Brother Evans, if it's... How I come to get acquainted with Brother Evans was at the Met up in Philadelphia. Brother Theo Jones--many of you has heard of him--he's a Full Gospel brother, very fine preacher. And we met, and he asked me if I'd come over to the Met with him for a couple nights of service, and that I agreed to do when we was coming from somewhere. And Brother Leo Mercier and Brother Gene Goad had got acquainted with Brother Evans in some way, and they said, "There's a man wants to meet you on one of the private interviews," said, "from down in Georgia." And I said, "All right." And my wife and little boy--little Joseph, as many of you remember the Lord showing me six years before he was born... The doctor said it was impossible; he couldn't be; but the Lord said it was going to be. So Joseph came right on just on time. And so, we... He was about two years old then, or three. Brother Welch Evans, that comes on my mind, that Brother Evans... The first time I met Brother Evans (I hope I'm not taking up too much time.), but Brother Welch Evans... Did I have him stand up awhile ago (I believe I did.), he and his family? We were at Philadelphia in a--in a meeting, and some... The tape boy, one of them, Mr. Mercier , who he is. And Brother Mercier had said, "There's a man from the south, named Evans, wants to meet you." And I said... "Would you have breakfast with him in the morning?" And he was taking care of those things then, the appointments and so forth, like my son does now, Billy Paul. And I said, "Yes, it'd be all right." He said, "He wanted to meet you."
Branham, 62-0629

Now, you're strangers to me, most of you. I know Brother Dalton and them sitting here on this front seat right here, this group right here, 'cause they're from back in Kentucky. I've knowed them for years. And I'm not mistaken, I believe way back in the back I seen Brother Gene Goad and Brother Leo Mercier , I'm not sure. Glad to see you brethren. I see Brother and Sister Dauch sitting here. I don't want you people, if you got anything wrong with you, just wait, not now. I want somebody that don't know me, and knows I don't know you. I want you to pray.

JUST.ONE.MORE.TIME.LORD_  PHOENIX.AZ  V-9 N-8  SUNDAY_  63-0120E   163      Now, you're strangers to me, most of you. Branham,

Just in coming down the road the other day, there was something happened that spoke to me about the thing that I--I must do. And it's--it's not my message. At one time, Leo Mercier said, said, "Brother Branham, the time will come after this," said... about five or six years ago, maybe seven, said, "the Lord going to change your ministry, Brother Branham." And said, "When He does, you'll probably just line up hospitals, and speak them out of the--the beds and things." It didn't sound right, although I believe Brother Leo was trying to be sincere about it.
Branham, 63-0601

But it didn't sound just right, because, see, our Lord Jesus never did that. See? And He went into the hospitals. There was one in that hospital. Do you remember where it was at in the Bible? The pool of Bethesda. Great multitudes of impotent people laid there, crippled, lame, blind, withered, waiting for the Angel. Now, that was in a spiritual hospital where people waited on Divine healing. And here the Divine Healer Himself came in and healed one and walked out.
Branham, 63-0601

Brother Leo, Brother Gene and pilgrims, I--I deem this one of the grand privileges that I've had, to come here to see for myself what you have here on these grounds. It's a... I have been blessed as I moved across the little creek there, and see this court. And I... One time when Brother Leo was making tapes, and I told him that surely there was something greater in life for him than to make tape. And, course, tape-making is something that we must do, but it's blessed us, but there is something else. We're all cut out for different things to do. And to come here this morning and look, this fine little Jerusalem setting out here, little, what I called, it Goshen, I believe, when we come over this morning. Remember, Goshen was one of the places that they worshipped, one of the first places the tent was pitched. And to meet old friends, and--and new, and to have this time allotted to us, I just... It seems like that--that you just don't want to leave. There's just something that wants to hold you. I can see why you people would want to stay here. See? It's something that grips you.
Branham, 64-0531

I don't believe I was ever in any sweeter worship and fellowship, as these songs and things, that I set there and bite my lips and shake my feet, and try to hold myself back from screaming out, when I heard those old songs sang in the way I think they ought to be sung, and that's sung in the Spirit. Now, that's what we--we... Paul said, "If I sing, I'll sing in the Spirit." Now, I can't imagine the Spirit as being screaming to the top of our voice. I--I think the Spirit of Christ is love, and gentleness, and peace, that--that brings something to our souls, that feed us. I think, there, that's the way them songs should be sang.
Branham, 64-0531

And to be here with you, a dedicated people to a cause, cause of Christ; there's just so many things I could--could say, that the time wouldn't permit me. I--I come for... I thought, "Well, I'll run up and visit Brother Leo and the church up there and the portion of the Body of Christ that's waiting for--for His Coming, and a part of the Bride that's sojourning here." And how you've separated yourself from the rest the world, and--and come over here to live this way. I was thinking, even the little creek, you're on this side of Jordan now, you're--you're in the--the land here. You've--you've come over an exodus, a coming-out of the world, into a place to where you can congregate yourself together and--and worship God, really according to the dictates of your conscience. And that's what we stand for, as a democracy, as a nation. We stand for this very thing, that each man can worship. And it's just too bad we don't have more like this. See? That's right. Where, that let the world be in their place. And God's people be in their place, where we can have this.
Branham, 64-0531

And I certainly have... If--if I said "amen" and walked out the door, I'd say it would pay me every Sunday to drive up here, or--or have my children even to come up, to--to set under an atmosphere like this. Because, it's always the atmosphere that brings the results.
Branham, 64-0531

You can lay a seed out there in the ground. No matter how much that seed is germitized, and lay it there, it's got to have an atmosphere to make it live. See? That sun has to come to a certain power, before, bring it to a certain atmosphere. An egg has to have an atmosphere, or it won't hatch. No matter how fertile it is, it's got to have that atmosphere.   And I think, that in a group like this, Christians hatch out, are born again in such an atmosphere as this. This is kind of atmosphere I was born under. No matter where I go and visit, the cold world, and mission fields and so forth, I can even stand and close my eyes and think of this atmosphere. This reminds me when I was just a boy preacher and just starting out. We had little groups that met from house to house. We separated ourselves from the things of the world, too. That's what made my heart the way it is today, in love with Christ, where we can dwell together. You couldn't pull Leo, Gene and them into some organization. Why? Couldn't pull you fellows into one. Why? You're threaded different. See? So if you are threaded, there's got to be a nut somewhere!...?... see, to--to hold that together. Isn't it right? See? Then it's complete.
Branham, 64-0531

So I'm thankful this morning to fit right in, up here, see, where you might be an odd person on this side of the river. Even some of your people might think that you are odd. I know they do. I've had letters from them, see, that said you were odd, you were different, "what in the world happened" to you? I just chose this little thing to say to you this morning. See? Sure, you're a nut. That's right. But I'm glad to be one. But if I'm not tight with this Word, then I'm "yunk." See? I'll just be a nut for Christ. Yes. I get letters from many of your people. Some of them come by and say, "Do you know what happened?" "What?" "This odd guy," uh-huh, "so-and-so, went up there and done so-and-so." I said, "Wait just a minute." Depends on what you're wound on. See? So, may the Lord Jesus Christ, the Shepherd of the flock, ever keep your hearts so wound into Him, that, when the great Shepherd does appear, we'll appear with Him. THE.ODDBALL_  PRESCOTT.AZ  SUNDAY_  64-0531 Bless Brother Leo, Brother Gene, and Brother Daulton, and all these fine men and these lovely women in here. Hearing their testimonies, happy, happy, contented. Walk in the room up there, where one that's paralyzed, and to see the smiles! No wonder, our Brother Leo said it's a bit of sunshine, to walk up here. No wonder, to see even when the man, not even a bit of relation to her, nothing but concerned, that they'd take a trailer and make it so she could be happy. See, Lord, the thread works just right. Walk into that home, and see someone who really could be grouchy, and--and fussy, and nasty, because that--that they're not out and able to run and dance and--and cut up, like many women. But she's happy to be here with her kind, and to be here with the Word of God, where It can be preached, and not any creeds tacked to It; just truly unadulterated Word of God, to worship in Spirit. Come in a little place like this, it's a little trailer where we meet together. It's the church. "Wherever two or three are assembled, I'm in their midst." We know You're here, Lord, and we worship You and we praise You.
Branham, 64-0531

I pray, God, that You'll keep sickness away from them. Keep the enemy across the river.
Branham, 64-0531

I'm going to do something. I'm going to catch a big bawling out when I get home. My queen, would you stand up, honey? Oh, I know her face is red, but... She never likes to do it. My wife, Mrs. Branham, and my little daughter, Sarah. Where you at, Sarah? Stand up. I think she's in the meeting. My little son, Joseph, where is he? Stand up, Joseph. That's my son, Joseph. I've got one more that's not here tonight, Rebekah. And yes, Brother Jim Maguire, our tape boy , who married into the family of the Sothmann's, is the tape boy standing here at the side.
Branham, 62-0629

Brother Welch Evans, that comes on my mind, that Brother Evans... The first time I met Brother Evans (I hope I'm not taking up too much time.), but Brother Welch Evans... Did I have him stand up awhile ago (I believe I did.), he and his family? We were at Philadelphia in a--in a meeting, and some... The tape boy , one of them, Mr. Mercier, who he is. Brother Mercier and Brother Goad has--is not with us no more. They have gone into secular work, and they're not with the campaigns any more.

Now you see here, it says on this card here, that. They're writing to the office and blaming you. Frankly, I've had many letters on it, and want to know why they can't get their tapes. Now you know your contract with the one who has the franchise, as I understood... The tapes, I--I want nothing to do with them, myself, if anybody can use the tape for furthering the Gospel, "Amen!" But, first, Brother Roberson and them started to make them, Brother Beeler and several of them started to make them; and then the two boys, Brother Mercier and Brother Goad, made them for years; and, of course, when each one of the man has made them, there has been complaints on every one. But, it seemingly here lately, there's been a great complaint about not getting their tapes. People has called me up from across the country. And then another, being, re-tracked tapes. They'll be playing one thing one minute, and play back on another another thing, and then you can't even understand what they are.
Branham, 63-1226

I visit, up at the boy that used to take tapes here, Leo Mercier . He's got a trailer court. And I had been praying for some people. And I prayed for a little lady named Lokar, I believe it was. And she had had fourteen operations of cancer, and the doctors give her up to die. And was prayed for, and told her she would not die, but she would live. And there's not a trace of it anywhere. And because of that, twenty-eight of her family was standing there, saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. Might be a nut, but it's drawing all men unto Him, that will come. It's threaded with the Word. You see what I mean?
Branham, 64-0614E

You may be seated. Christian greetings to all that's here tonight. I'm sorry that we're still jammed and packed till we can hardly breathe. Even the air conditioners, as well as it's air conditioned, doesn't have much effect, so many people. If there was hardly just a normal church full of people, those air conditioners would freeze you. But now everyone has got a fan, fanning, and the air conditioner is blowing as hard as it can. We send greetings from the East Coast to the West, to all our friends in Christ, who is listening in. We send greetings over in San Jose, Brother Borders, the group up there. We send greetings up in the mountains, Prescott, Arizona, to Brother Leo Mercier and his group that's up there waiting for the Coming of the Lord. We send greetings to those in Tucson, that's gathered tonight, waiting for the Coming of the Lord. Down into Houston, Texas, to those who are waiting for the Coming of the Lord. Up in Chicago, to those who are waiting for the Coming of the Lord. Up on the East Coast, New York and Connecticut, and the great groups up there, that's waiting for the Coming of the Lord. We don't have room here to seat them, so we just have to send them the Word through the--the medium of the telephone. We send greetings to Brother Junior Jackson tonight, and his group down in Clarksville. Brother Ruddell, up on sixty-two, and his group, waiting for the Coming of the Lord. And we're gathered here tonight at the home church, the tabernacle, waiting for the Coming of the Lord.
Branham, 65-0725E

Then, day before yesterday, three days ago, come Leo Mercier , coming down with exactly the same dream, not knowing nothing about it; about trying to breed a big white stallion to a black mare, and they couldn't do it; nervous. Said I walked up there, said, "'Leo,'" and told him what I did. I don't want to say it here, see, but I told him what I did. "Said, 'Don't you see? Now, to know this; I didn't know Ed Dalton had a son-in-law, and the son-in-law had a dog by this name. You'll know, Leo, that you're dreaming. But, when you wake up, remember it!'" And said, "I never heard such a command."
Branham, 65-0815

And just as we got there, why, the phone rang, and Billy run in to ask... I said, "It may be a sick call now." And we just got in, and it was Brother Capps. And the little boy had peritonitis, and just a very little shade of a chance to live. And the Lord has healed him. And the other night said he's suffering with some kind of pains, Mrs. Woods was telling me. And we was leaving in a hurry, and I just... I said, "Mrs. Woods, it's so late now, ten o'clock, I doubt of them letting me in out there at the hospital." I said, "I'm going up home and just close the door." And I went up and prayed. And they say the little boy is in the audience tonight. So we're very thankful for that. And we're grateful. Now we're holding on; we haven't heard yet. If Brother Leo Mercier and Sister Mercier is listening in, we haven't heard as yet from your father. We hope to hear in a little while, how he's doing. But I'm almost sure he'll be all right, so we're trusting that to Almighty God, that God will take care of that dear, old sainted man, an old veteran minister of the Gospel.

I just got a report to you, up in--up at... in Arizona, up at Prescott. Brother Coggins has been dismissed from the hospital. So we're very thankful for that. Good. That's fine. So we're very grateful for that. Sister Mercier , your daddy is getting all right now. I just felt, after we prayed, that he would be all right.

And, Sister Mack, I'm glad to see you looking fine, sitting here at the organ, tonight. And many of my friends I see from down at Sierra Vista, and Brother Borders... or Brother Roberson, rather, from Indiana; many. I want to say to the folks up at the tabernacle, tonight, look like half of them is down here, and from the tabernacle at Jeffersonville.     And to my friend up there, Brother Kuhn, that you called in about, concerning that sick, request. I'm praying for it, Brother Kuhn. Just have faith. Don't worry. It'll be all right.     And down into Texas, Brother Blair, if you are listening in tonight, my brother, just remember this; that God Who brought you through the first time, can bring you through the second. And we are believing that God will grant this to you. And don't you take the Devil's lie about anything. You just remember that God is God, and there is... and He still remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. And we love Him and believe Him, and we are praying for you.     To all of our friends in California; to Brother Mercier and them up here in Arizona, many other places, Phoenix;

Now we're going to open the Word of God and read. But just before we do, let us speak to Him just a moment. Dear Jesus, I cannot express my--my feelings and my gratitude towards Brother Mercier , Brother Goad, and all these fine people and their little children, of how kind they have showed us since we've been here. The kindness is beyond anything that we expected. And we know that they were lovely and sweet. But we didn't know that we would be treated in such a real royal way. And, Lord, I pray that Your Presence will always be in this camp of people, the Holy Spirit will fill every heart here, and You will give them Eternal Life. And may we, as we enjoy today, may there be an endless Day that when we'll meet in the Presence of Him Who we are worshiping and love, and give all praise for these things. Till that time, Lord, keep us loyal to Him and to His Word. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen.

Now, I want to say to Brother Leo... I was talking about Brother Wood last night, his brother being here. Brother Leo, if you and the little group that's hooked in up there this morning; Sister Mercier , your father's here. I seen him last night. He's around here in the building somewhere, and he looks fine and dandy. The morning he was healed up at the tabernacle, there was two major cancer cases, real dying, and both of them was healed. And their father, an elderly man in a heart attack, was brought out to the glory of God. And he's in the meeting here somewhere. I can't see him amongst the crowd now, but he was here last night.
