Back To The Bible: William Branham's Teachings on Salvation

In many of his sermons, William Branham preached "salvation" through "Jesus Christ". As one would expect in any of the Pentecostal sermons of the day, requirements for salvation included faith in the Oneness Pentecostalism version of God as well as Pentecostal "works", or the rules that must be followed to affirm "salvation". But were William Branham's statements, that appear to point to Jesus Christ, scriptural?

Though Branham's description of finding salvation differed depending up on his audience, he often described salvation as a result of an "experience" in alignment with the Pentecostal doctrine:

Salvation does not come by denomination or by education. It’s comes by an experience of being borned again of the Spirit of God with the Spirit of Christ living in your body. Now, that is true.
- Branham, 61-0411

In audiences of mixed denominations and faiths, some frowned upon the Pentecostal version of "salvation." While Pentecostalism required "works" for salvation and affirmation, non-Pentecostal ministers based their theology upon Ephesians 2:8-9. According to this passage of scripture, "requirements" were intentionally omitted from God's plan of salvation for the purpose of keeping Christians humble. God did not want others to boast in their achievement:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.
- Ephesians 2:8-9

To appease the crowds, Branham sometimes noted the differences between theologies, sometimes to the extent of pointing out the different versions of "the Gospel". Rather than alienating members of his audience, Branham would claim that the different "gospels" had similar results with concern of salvation. He did so using the Latter Rain theology of multiple offices in the Church:

Now, the only way you can be saved is to accept what He’s already done. And He... By His stripes we were healed at Calvary. See? And you just have to accept what He’s done. Is that right? Now, the ministers, many of them preach the Gospel of Divine healing, you accept it, just the same results. But in there, God has set some in the Church apostles, and prophets, and gifts of healing, and so forth, faith, and... That’s to—to stimulate, other words, the Church.
- Branham, 53-0907E

Even with respect to the Oneness Pentecostal view of God, Branham tailored his sermons to his audience. Though religious historians recognize Branham's teaching of modalism as his "stance" on theology, Branham did not consistently hold to the Oneness doctrine. In instances where a Trinitarian sermon would further his agenda, Branham preached sermons describing a tri-une nature of God. In some crowds, he claimed to have accepted the Trinity, placing Jesus Christ as a "Person" in the Godhead:

Then suffered under Pontius Pilate, crucified, died, buried, rose the third day, setting at the right hand of God the Father, making intercessions now for we who’ve accepted the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the trinity. And in our hearts, tonight, He rules and reigns.
- Branham, 51-0929

Throughout his recorded ministry, from 1947 to 1965, as he spoke to crowds of differing faith with opposing views on salvation, Branham held to one consistent belief: faith in a "prophet" and his "message" was required for "salvation". According to his Manifested Sons of God" doctrine, Branham taught that Jesus Christ would be made manifest, in the flesh, in a man who was a "prophet". According to his Pentecostal theology that originated with Rev. Frank Sandford and Rev. John Alexander Dowie, this prophet would be the Old Testament "Elijah", and he would be "manifested" in the flesh of a 20th century minister. As did Rev. Frank Sandford, Rev. John Alexander Dowie, Rev. Charles Fox Parham, Rev. Jim Jones and others, Branham successfully convinced his followers that he, himself, was the manifestation of Elijah.

According to Branham, this "prophet" did not come with a "message" of repentance or salvation. Instead, it was to be a message of "condemnation":

"But somewhere, some place God's got a humble prophet waiting for the hour. He's the sign. He's the sign that will condemn the world and will save the church: the prophet."
- Branham, 61-1112

Branham's version of "salvation" was not one of faith in Jesus Christ alone. His "Manifested Sons of God" theology suggested that faith in William Branham (the "manifested" Elijah), was required.

"You must believe God and believe Christ, and believe the Holy Ghost. Then after believing all of them, God wants you to believe me."
- Branham, 50-0300

This requirement was not simply a casual suggestion. The "Manifested Sons of God" theology described a version of a "Godhead" that included a prophet; this "Elijah" was to be "one with God" in the same way Jesus Christ of the Old Testament was "one with God".

The Elijah of this day is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is to come according to Matthew the seventeen-...Luke 17:30, is, the Son of man is to reveal Himself among His people. Not a man, God! But it’ll come through a prophet.
- Branham, 65-1127B

At the same time, this "Elijah" would have a "Message" that was also "one with God". The "Manifested Sons of God" theology claimed that the coming "Elijah" was to be a "Living Word" or a "Spoken Word" for it's "age" or "hour":

The same thing is today, it's God manifested in flesh, the Message of the hour, the Light of the day!"
- Branham, 64-0617

Now, I’m just your brother, by the grace of God. But when the Angel of the Lord moves down, It becomes, then, a Voice of God to you. Maybe it… If I offended you by saying that, forgive me. But I felt that might been resented. But I am God’s Voice to you. See? I say that again. That time was under inspiration. See? And I—I felt bad about it the first time, but It repeated it. Now see, I can say nothing in myself. But what He shows me, I say it.
- Branham, 51-0505

To fully understand William Branham's teaching on salvation, one must fully understand his "Manifested Sons of God" theology, and its requirements for salvation. Belief in Jesus Christ is not sufficient for salvation; one must also place their faith in the "prophet' and his "message" to be saved. To accept Jesus Christ but reject William Branham's "prophet" status, under Branham's theology, was to reject "eternal life":

"The Word of the Lord comes to the prophet, and him only." That is, the Word that's spoken for that day is made manifest by the prophet of that age, always has been."
- Branham, 65-0124

"You've got to take the Message of the hour... Then you either receive That or reject It. That's Eternal Life, leadership of the Holy Spirit, leading His Church."
- Branham, 65-1207

Examples of Branham's "Manifested Jesus Christ (Son of Man) Theology":

Now, we've had Elijahs, and Elijahs' coats, and Elijahs' mantles, and Elijahs' everything. But the Elijah of this day is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is to come according to Matthew the seventeen-... Luke 17:30, says the Son of man is to reveal Himself among His people. Not a man, God!

I'm the Lord that raised up Christ from the grave.
I'm the One that sent the Holy Ghost.
I'm the One that give the promise.
Brother Branham has nothing to do in this.
I have — He's surrendered his life to Me.
I'm using his Spirit;
I'm talking through his lips.
That's Me; I'm the Lord.
59-0410 Looking At the Unseen

Now, Jesus, in Luke 17:30, promised the sign of the end time. The last sign, was God manifested in a human body that could discern the thoughts that was in Sarah's mind, in the tent behind her. That's what He said. That's the sign that He promised at the end. Ju-... What'd He say it would do? "It would be known in the days, the last days, when the Son of man will be revealed." Be revealed! When the Son of man is revealed, that will be the sign He'll be revealed by. Now see if That don't say that. Certainly does. Now could you say, that, "No, it'll be something else. No, it'll be build a great building, a great this, or this, or some great ecumenical council, or some"? Oh, no. No, that's a long ways off. That's on the other side. It's against what God said doing, He would do.

Then here on this Green's Mill, there come a Man in and told me that, not to try to ask to get rid of This, but It was a gift sent from God, that was to be taken to the peoples of the world, and to let me know by the Scriptures that all these things that had been promised according to the Bible must be fulfilled, that the time was at hand. And I went back and told my pastor. I went down and told him, and he said, "Billy, what have you eat? Did you have a dream, was that a nightmare?" But, to me, it was Malachi 4. He said, "How you going to do it?" It was Luke 17:30. It was also Revelation 10. It was also all these Scriptures that's been promised for the last days. I didn't see it done right then. People wondered, "When's this going to happen?" But I just held on.

Now, remember, I'm using the voice of the prosecutor, nailing his case. "All right, He said at Luke 17:30, where He said, 'In the last days, the Son of man would be revealed,' God would reveal Himself to the Seed of Abraham," as he heard a fanatic preacher preach one time and say that He would reveal Hisself again in human beings, called the Son of man. "Revelation 10, He says that He claimed the last angel's messenger, according to the church age in the Laodicea, which was to be the lukewarm, that Jesus would be (which was the Word) put out of the church. He claimed that in these dispensations that there had been things that hadn't been revealed to the reformers in the early days, but in the last days, that, the end, the seventh angel's, seventh messenger's Message, that all these Scriptures would be made real and made manifest. There is no such person on earth, never was and never will be," he claims.

Revelations 10. Listen close now. Uh-huh. Bride, called out by the Word; Christ Himself calling out the Bride, making plain Hebrews 13:8, that He's "the same yesterday, today, and forever," does the same, is the same. "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." See? Luke 22... Or, Luke 17:30, and also Malachi 4, Hebrews 4:12, all these Scriptures that's promised, this is to be between the Sixth and the Seventh Seal, and the Sixth and the Seventh Trumpet. Pentecost feast finishes at the period of the Seventh Trumpet, for the next is the Coming of... Seventh Seal, for the next is the mystery of the Coming of Christ, and, also, the Trumpet is sound for the Jews. Their Sixth Trumpet is sound, and, when it does, it makes known to them the revealed Son of God; one-half hour of space. Remember, all Trumpets sound on this Sixth Seal. The Sixth Seal finishes the mystery, under the Sixth Seal, just before the Seventh is opened. Notice, here is Leviticus 23:26. How in order is the Scripture! After the long period of pentecost, which Israel did reject back there; and He called the Gentile Church out, through this pentecostal feast. How many understand what the pentecostal feast is? It's the fruit of... firstfruit of the harvest, the firstfruit of the resurrection, the pentecostal feast. Don't miss this, people! And, you on tape, listen close! This has been the time of pentecostal feast. The Jews has laid silent; they rejected It. Now they've got to be called back to the Atonement. We know Who the Atonement was; they didn't. And the Trumpet sound, after the pentecostal jubilee, calls the Jews together. Can't you see how that Trumpet, of persecution under Hitler and them, blasted? And the Jews was forced to come together, to fulfill the Scriptures. Now you got it? All that's got it, say, "Amen." [Congregation says, "Amen." — Ed.] Good. All right.

After nineteen hundred years, and we're at the end of the Laodicea church age, He promised, in Luke 17:30, that this same Son of man (He promised it) would be revealed in the days like it was in Sodom, upon the earth. Did He do it? Does it have to come to pass? It's impossible... Now, remember, He come in three names: the Son of man, a prophet; the Son of God, the Spirit; the Son of David, for the Millennium. But in between, this conjunction, now according to His own Words, in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed, reveal Himself as (what? not Son of God) Son of man. Will reveal Hisself in a different way. Now, what does that make? Malachi 4, exactly right. See, the Son of man will reveal Himself, not in a whole big denominations and things, as we've had through the ages, but He would manifest Himself as Son of man again, to make manifest Malachi 4. "And in that day, I will send to you Elijah the prophet, and he shall turn the hearts of the children back to the Faith of the apostolic fathers, away from all this denominationalism, and come back to the original Word again," to draw out that last-day Bride-Tree that He promised. "In the evening time it shall be Light," not through the misty day, it shall be light; it'll be a day can't be called day nor night. See, it's making up the Body. But the same Head that was here in the East, is here in the West again, "There shall be Light in the evening time." Oh, my, I feel like singing a song!

Jesus promised, in Luke 17:30, that just before His Coming, there would be like the time of Moses... or Noah, "When they were eating and drinking, and given in marriage; and knew not till the day that Noah entered into the ark." He said there would be that time. Then He said also, "As it was in the days of Lot," and said, "this will take place in that day when the Son of man shall be revealed, when the Son of man is revealed in the last days."

What was it? Jesus said, in Saint Luke 17:30, that, "In the days like it was in the days of Lot," same situation, before the Gentile world is burned up, He said, "the Son of man will reveal Himself in that day." He made the promise, that Malachi 4 promised us it would say. A Message would come forth that would restore the people back to the original pentecostal Message, and with the same blessings they had on the day of... What is it? It's a two-winged eagle, both New and Old Testament, flopping its promises together, of God, to fulfill what the promises of the Bible said it would do. Amen.

I think of today. And notice what that was as the — the priest gave the Word over. The Word was read, handed back to the priest. And the last quotation out of my text that I had, and my Scriptures wrote down, was Saint Luke 17:30, where, Jesus referring back to this day that we're living in, "rich, Laodicea Age," and yet rotten in politics, church politics and national politics, just as rotten as it could be. And then He said, "As it was in the days of Lot, so shall it be in the coming end time," notice what He said there, "in the day that the Son of man will be revealed." See, "In the days that the Son of man will be revealed!" I want to draw your attention. See, He came in three names. He came as Son of man, which was prophet. And that's what He did, He proved His ministry, by being a prophet. We all know that. Every one of us knows it. He never said He was the Son of God; He said He was the Son of man. Now, today, He is the Son of God, which He returned back, and now He is in the form of the Holy Ghost, the unseen Person; but yet, God, the Son of God. In the Millennium, He sits upon His Father's Throne, which He'll be Son of David. He revealed Himself first as Son of man, a prophet; this age, through the church age, Son of man... or Son of God; and in the other age, Son of David. Three sons!

Now, we believe that the hour has come that Saint John 14:12 must be fulfilled. We, we believe that Malachi 4 must be fulfilled. We believe that Luke 17:30 must be fulfilled. We believe that, all these prophecies that He said would come to pass in this day. We believe they must be fulfilled, and we believe we're seeing them fulfilled right now. That's exactly right. Stop running. Don't get out of His Presence; just move up into His Presence. That's right. And I know that's what you're desiring to do. Cause, I seen licenses out there from Texas, and Louisiana, and everywhere. That's what we're here for, is not to run from His Presence, but to run into His Presence. Come back, get off the... [ — Ed.]... been a Jonah, if you've been wondering which way to go or what to do, come on, get on the ship with us tonight. We're going down to Tarshish, to cry out... or, Nineveh, to cry out. We're letting that Tarshish ship go on down if they want to. We've got a duty before God, that's, a Message that we're responsible for.

In Saint Luke 17:30, Jesus said, "In the last days, as it was in the days of Sodom, when the Son of man will be revealing Himself again, it'll be the same thing." 65-0218 THE.SEED.IS.NOT.HEIR.WITH.THE.SHUCK_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN V-6 N-4 THURSDAY_ The world is in a Sodom condition. And the church has went into Sodom, with it, like Lot and his wife. And I say that there is a Elected Church somewhere in this world, that's pulling out and set aside from those things, and the manifestation of God has attracted Its attention. We're at the last days. The shuck has give forth its Strength into the Seed. It's went on out; it was a good shuck, but it served its time. See, it is the Word Bride of the Word Groom! The natural seed of Abraham, of Isaac, and Jacob, and... Or, natural seed, rather, of Ishmael, natural seed of Isaac, and so forth, had to go into the ground, in order to — to bring out this other, bring out Jesus. And so has all these others, the seeds has to dry... I mean, the shucks has to dry, and the pollen has to dry, and everything dies, so the Seed can produce Itself. That's the way it's been in every age.

Then what is it now? "We must be about the Father's business," the Wheat would cry back, the Grain. Yes, sir. What must it do? Vindicate Malachi 4, vindicate Luke 17:30, vindicate Hebrews 13:8, vindicate Saint John 14:12, vindicate all of His Word. Vindicate Hebrews, I mean... Revelations, the 10th chapter, of the opening of the Seven Seals, and the mysteries of God; even to serpent's seed, and all, would be manifested; marriage and divorce and all these other mysteries that's been hid under the pillars for all these years, from the theologians and so forth, but it's now the hour. That's the Father's business. Think they would receive It? They want to be dignified, and say, "Our denomination don't teach us That." But the Bible does. That's right. 65-0218 THE.SEED.IS.NOT.HEIR.WITH.THE.SHUCK_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN V-6 N-4 THURSDAY_ God vindicates It to be true. Sure, It is fulfilling this age, when the Seven Seals. Or, just proving the denominations has just been carriers, that's another one of Father's business, to prove. And the Father's business now is to show you that them denominations is not His. They're a man-made systems that deny the Word. Right. Notice. You say, "Well, Mary, the vir-... great virgin!" At the cross, He never called her, "mother." He called her, "woman," carrier, not mother. See? True, she was a carrier of the Word, but she was not the Word. He was the Word. Oh, yes. Notice, also, she was not identified in the resurrection with Him. He died and rose again, 'cause He was the Word. She was just a carrier. She died, and still in the grave. That's right. So, she was just a carrier, not His mother, not God. She was just a carrier like the churches are. That's right. Shows she was just a carrier, not the Word.

Jesus said so, here in Saint Luke 17:30, "Before this time come, that, the Son of man would be revealed like He did in the days of Sodom, before the destruction of Sodom." Now we're looking for a sign. Now let's take the conditions of time as it was in Sodom. Notice, they all went out in Sodomite, the world. I think one of the movie directors put on a picture, not long ago, and I got to see it, that was, Sodom. If you ever see it and there's nothing else on but that, take a look at it. It's a certainly a good picture of the United States today, Hollywood, just exactly; same kind of dress and everything else that they did as right then; big drunken sprees and everything else, a religious cult of people, so-called religious. Notice, and Sodom had a witness, and it was a fellow by the name of Lot, which was just a nephew to — to Abraham. Now, Abraham did not go down in Sodom, he and his group. He had a big group with him, enough to fight off about a dozen kings and their army. So, he had a big group with him. And he was sitting out there under an oak tree, one day, when everything was going wrong for him; nobody had anything to do with him, but he was still holding onto that promise. Watch now, closely, before we close. While he was sitting there, down come three man, walking to him. Two of them went down into Sodom and preached the Gospel to them, to come out, to Lot. Is that right? [Congregation says, "Amen." — Ed.] But One stayed with Abraham. Notice, the One that stayed with Abraham was God Himself. The other two were Angel messengers.
Now, down in Sodom, they done no miracles, only smiting them blind. And preaching the Gospel always smites them blind. Now look at the set of that day. There is a church natural. Always in three's, as I said last night, God is represented. There was Sodomites; the Lotites; and the Abrahamites. It's in the same position tonight, the world setting just like that. Let me ask you something. Look at this setting now. Abraham called this Man that talked to him, "Elohim." The Hebrew word Elohim means "the all-sufficient One, the One that's the Eternal One," Elohim, God Himself! In the beginning, Genesis 1, said, "In the beginning God..." Take the Hebrew word there, either, or Greek word, rather, "In the beginning Elohim created heavens and earth."
Here, He, in Genesis, about 22 here, He says again, or — or about the 20, He said, and he called this Man's name "Elohim." Why did he do it? God, represented in a human flesh, that set down with Abraham and eat a calf sandwich, drinking some milk, and eat some bread. God Himself, and disappeared right before Abraham. But He give him a sign. Notice. And that sign was that He had His back turned to the tent. And remember, Abraham, his name was Abram a few days before that, and Sarah was Sarra before that; S-a-r-r-a then S-a-r-a-h, and A-b-r-a-m to A-b-r-a-h-a-m. Abraham means "father of nations." Now watch real close here, and we'll see the setting of the hour that we're now living, as Jesus told us to look for this setting. We've seen all the rest of it right; now let's see to the royal Seed, what setting they're supposed to see. Now this Man said, "Abraham, where is your wife, Sarah?" And Abraham said, "She is in the tent, behind You." Now, He had never seen her. How did He know that his name was Abraham? How did He know her name was S-a-r-a-h? "Abraham, where is your wife, Sarah?" Said, "She is in the tent, behind You." He said, "I..." "I," a personal pronoun. "I am going to visit you according to the promise. Your wife is going to have that baby. You've trusted Me, now I'm going to make it come to pass."
And Sarah, in the tent, behind, eavedropping or eardropping, ever what you call it, listening through the tent, she laughed up her sleeve, and she said, "Now, me, an old woman like I am, have pleasure with my lord; and him old, too, out there a hundred years old? While, this hasn't happened for many, many years." And the Man, M-a-n, setting there eating, in human flesh, drinking and eating like an ordinary man; with dust on His clothes, and had dust on His feet, and Abraham washed it off. God, Himself, looked around, and He said, "Why did Sarah laugh, back in the tent, saying this?" He knew, could discern the thoughts of Sarah in the tent, behind Him. Is that right? [Congregation says, "Amen." — Ed.] Now, when the Royal Seed of Abraham come on the earth, what sign did He show, Son of man. Simon came up to Him one day; Andrew brought him. He said, "Your name is Simon. You're the son of Jonas," He said. See, that made a believer out of him.
THIS.DAY.THIS.SCRIPTURE.IS.FULFILLED_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN V-3 N-8 FRIDAY_ Philip went over and got Nathanael; come back, said, "Come, see a Man Who we have — we've found; Jesus of Nazareth, son of Joseph." He said, "Now wait a minute. Could anything good come out of that fanaticism?" He said, "Come, see." So when Philip come up in the Presence of Jesus, with Nathanael, Jesus looked over at him and said, "Behold an Israelite in whom there's no guile." He said, "Rabbi, when did You know me?" Said, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the tree, I saw you." He said, "Rabbi, Thou art the Son of God. You're the King of Israel!"
When the little woman at the well, in her immoral condition, come up, a little panoramic something like this, to draw some water. Jesus had sent His disciples away, to get victuals. When she come up to draw water, He said, "Bring Me a drink, woman." She said, "It's not customary for You to say that. We have segregation here. Now, you Jews have nothing to do with us Samaritans; we have nothing to do with you." He said, "But, woman, if you knew Who you were talking to, you would ask Me for a drink. I'd give you waters you don't come here to draw." He found where her condition was, what it was. He said, "Go get your husband and come here." She said, "I don't have any husband." He said, "You've said the truth. You've had five, and the one you're living with now is not yours." She said, "Sir, I perceive that Thou art a prophet. We know when the Messiah cometh He'll show us these things." Jesus said, "I am He." On that, she run into the city and said, "Come, see a Man Who has told me the things I've done. Isn't this the very Messiah?"
Watch, He did that before the Jews, and the Samaritans, but never the Gentiles. The Gentiles, we people, were heathens in them days, the other nations, packing a club on our back, worshiping idols. We wasn't looking for no Messiah. He only appears to those who is looking for Him, and we are supposed to be looking for Him. But those who claimed to be looking for Him, the church itself, when they seen that done, they said, "He's a devil. He's a fortuneteller, a Beelzebub!" And Jesus said, "That sin would be forgiven them," because He hadn't died yet. "But," said, "someday the Holy Ghost will come and do the same thing, and to speak one word against It will never be forgiven." That's this day, where every Word has to hang together. "Speak a word against It; it'll never be forgiven in this world or the world to come."
That was the Royal Seed of Abraham. And here that Royal Seed of Abraham, which come because of that identification of that Man sitting there with Abraham, come to prove it was the same God, promising in this day, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man, when He is revealing Himself as Son of man." Amen. This is the day for this Scripture to be fulfilled. Look at the setting we are today. Look at the church where the Son of God... Look at the dismal day. Look at all the prophecies. Now, a strange thing, our visitors are due then, if the setting has to be like at Sodom. There were three of them come along, three outstanding man sent from Heaven. We'll admit that. Three of them; One stayed with Abraham. They all started there, but One stayed with Abraham. The rest of them went down in Sodom. Is that right? [Congregation says, "Amen." — Ed.] And Abraham had a changed name, from Abram to Abraham. True? ["Amen."] Not one time has the history, church of the world, ever had an evangelist to go to it, with a name ending in h-a-m, till this day, Billy G-r-a-h-a-m. Is that right? [Congregation says, "Amen." — Ed.] G-r-a-h-a-m, six letters. A-b-r-a-h-a-m is seven letters. But G-r-a-h-a-m is six letters, which is the world, man. See?
Look what's went out there, today, is them messengers from Heaven. Is there a man on earth has got repentance so preached so plainly as Billy Graham? Has there been a man that has had an effect upon the people, like Billy Graham? Never has there been, internationally, a man. Oh, Billy Sunday, and so forth, was here in the United States, but Billy Graham is knowed worldwide. See where he's calling? Out of Sodom. And he's got his accompanying party there with the Pentecostal church, an Oral Roberts. But what about the Elect group? What kind of a sign are they supposed to see? What are they supposed to have? Hallelujah! "It shall be Light in the evening time." This day this Scripture is fulfilled. [Congregation rejoices — Ed.] This day God's promise is fulfilled. We know that to be the Truth. He is here tonight as He was then.

Then, my brother, I want to ask you something, in closing. We might say this. In Malachi 4, aren't we also promised another eagle, a Pillar of Light to be following, to show the erring church this day that He is Hebrews 13:8, "the same yesterday, today, and forever"? Aren't we promised another one to come flying from the wilderness? Amen! That's exactly the Truth. How fitting and matching it is to Luke 17:30, where the Son of man (Eagle) will be revealing Himself to bring to naught all other worship places, such as denominations and so forth! God chose His place. John said, "There It is!" And then we're promised the same thing in this day, Malachi 4, "To turn the hearts of the children back," to say that He is not dead, these things are not for another age; baptism in Jesus' Name was not for back there, but He is now the same. Amen. To bring to naught all other places of worship, that's what the last-day eagle is to do, to show that all the rest of it is foolishness, denomination is folly, but to point them again with the same sign that He did, that He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hallelujah!

And to be waved again, we realize, in the last day, according to Luke 17:30, in the Son day again, "in the day that the S-o-n of man will be revealed," or waved again over the people. Now, Who is the Son of man? "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us." And if all the teaching that we have, and confirmation of the Word of God; by Word of God, by signs, by wonders, we see today, that in the Book of — of Luke here, that as we just quoted from, or the — the Luke the 17th chapter and the 30th verse; and Malachi 4, and the different Scriptures that we are acquainted with, that that Word again is waved over the people, that the dead traditions of man is dead, and the Son of God is alive again with the baptism of the Holy Spirit right among us, and is giving us Life.

Watch Jesus, in Luke 17:30, see, when He was saying there about the end time, how they would be like in days of Noah. Then He said, "And like, likewise, in the days of Sodom," said, "when the Son of man is being revealed." The Son of man again, not Son of God. "Son of man," see, that brings in Malachi 4 again, right straight back. All these other prophecies coming right in, how it's supposed to be done. He proves His Word to be so. That's right. And notice, in doing so, how He is going to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh, and what's going to take place, how the restoration will come back. "And your sons and daughters shall prophesy. Upon My handsmaids and maidservants will I pour out of My Spirit. And I'll show signs in the heavens above."

Now It's got to come right straight back to that original ministry that He had here on earth, 'cause it's the Bride. They are one. Now He promised, in the last days, how these things would happen. And we see them happening, like all the promises, Malachi 4, Saint Luke 17:30. Oh, how many more Scriptures, it'd be endless! And, oh, I'm going to have to stop, 'cause it's late. Yeah. All right, you — you tell them, see if they can get... You ask them, see, and then you come tell me. Now, just a minute. I want to get this, so bad, see. I — I want you to see this, so bad. Look, Jesus... Notice, see, the Bride.

The evening time, He promised He would reveal, though, open these Seven Seals and show what them churches had missed back there. Revelations 10, and Malachi 4, Luke 17:30, He said He would do it. Now let's not mix it up. Let's keep it right like that. Let me, in closing... It's about, pretty near fifteen minutes until twelve. Let me close, in saying this. Friends, listen, in the Name of the Lord Jesus! These things are too plain for you not to believe It. It's too plain for you not to see It. Surely you can see That! Surely the world could see It! But just your... Don't be influenced by these new fandangles and things they got today; I don't care how good a man they are, how sincere they are. "If they don't speak according to the law and the prophets," the Bible said, "there is no Life in them." See?

And remember His promises, in Malachi 4, Luke 17:30, also in Saint John 14:12, and how many more Scriptures, of telling, Joel 2:38, and all that He would do, or 2:28, rather, what He would do in these last days. And how the prophet said that it'd be Light in these last days, how It would work, what It would do, all the Scriptures pointing to this last days. And that is Christ! If you can hide away in That now, in that secret Place, you can eat and see the goodness and mercy of God. If you're sick, there is healing there.

And then put another Scripture, Luke 17:30, Malachi 4. "As Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses," the anointed Word of the hour, "so will these men," not man, "men," anointed ones, "resist the Truth." "In the very day that the Son of man is revealed." Revelations 10:1 to 7, read it when you get home, "the seventh angel's Message, opening up the Seals." What is it? Not the angel is the Son of man; but the messenger is revealing the Son of man. Can you get it separated now? That's where it seems to be so hard for you, you see. Not the Son of man, Himself; but the seventh angel, the seventh messenger, is revealing to the public the Son of man, because It's left the shuck. He can't organize It. It's the Grain, Itself, again. "And in that day, Jannes and Jambres will withstand," anointed ones (make-believers and unbelievers, the church formal and the Pentecostals) stand up against the true Grain, "but let them alone; their folly will be made manifest, as theirs was." See? You understand now? [Congregation says, "Amen." — Ed.] Revelations 10, said, "In the days of the sounding of the seventh angel." Now remember, seventh, Laodicea Church Age. "The sounding of that angel," when that church age is done denominated and become a church age, when it's done in its Pentecostal organization; when the messenger to that... What was each messenger? What was Martin Luther? A rebuke to the Catholic. What was Wesley? A rebuke to them Lutherans. What was the Pentecost? A rebuke to them others. Where has the Life gone now? Away from an organization. No more shuck; it's the Grain. What is it? A rebuke to the Pentecost, see, to fulfill the Scripture of this hour. See? Notice, the very day when this messenger... Not when he starts on, but when he begins to declare his Message. See? The First Pull, healing; Second Pull, prophesying; Third Pull, the opening of the Word, the mysteries revealed. No more, there is no more higher order to reveal the Word, than prophets. But the only way the prophet can be vindicated is by the Word. And, remember, the Third Pull was the opening of them Seven Seals, to reveal the hidden Truth that's been sealed in the Word. Do you see it? [Congregation says, "Amen." — Ed.] It is then, in that day when this thing is to take place, that Jannes and Jambres, the impersonators, will appear again. Just like they did when Moses appeared with the original Word, to say It; they appear to impersonate It. Just exactly right. Now you see what Matthew 24:24 is? See, anointed ones! Now there's three things we're going to say before we close. This is it. I want you to listen real close now as we close. Three things, remember, three things have been fulfilled. Three things lays before you right now. First. The world is in a Sodom condition. Jesus said it would happen. Look at the perversion; our women trying to act like men; our men trying to act like women, sissified; rotten, filthy, low-down, devil-possessed, and don't know it. The Bible said that would happen, and that's where it's at. Secondly. It's in that hour, according to the Scripture here, that Jannes and Jambres appears. Secondly. Thirdly. It's in that same hour that the Son of man is to be revealed.

What's happened upon Mount Sunset? God confirming His Word. That's what all this noise is about. Notice, it's God fulfilling His promised Word again, of Revelations 10:1 to 7, "And in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel's Message, the mystery of God should be finished." The hidden mystery of Revelations 10:1 to 7, the last Message to the last church age. Fulfills exactly, in this age, Saint Luke 17:30, "The day when the Son of man shall be revealed." "And there shall rise false prophets and false Christs, show great signs and wonders, insomuch it'd deceive the Elected if possible." The people still in doubt. And, as usual, the church is just as puzzled.

Do you believe me to be God's prophet? Do you believe these things that you've heard tonight is the Truth? Now, if God will reveal to me something that you've done, or something you ought not have done, or something's wrong with you, or what your desire is, you'll know whether it's true or not. Won't you? And if He'll do that, will it confirm His Word that He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that Saint Luke 17:30 is being manifested? You believe It?

It made so much difference, until Paul commanded a bunch of Baptists that they had to be rebaptized in the Name of Jesus Christ before the Holy Ghost would ever come on them. And also caused that apostle to scream out, and said, "If a angel comes from Heaven and preaches anything else, let him be cursed." Sure, it makes a difference. Oh, my! "There is no such a thing as the baptism of the Holy Ghost in these days. That was only for the apostles. It's passed. And such a thing as prophets? It's not even known of. Miracles? They're unscientific. Malachi 4? That was for another age. John 14:12? Oh, Jesus didn't really mean that. Luke 17:30? Oh, that was just a myth. See, it — it's misinterpreted; it wasn't in the original." Such tommyrot! When God Almighty comes down in our midst and proves it. When He says, that, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever," He proves that so. I don't care who says not about it; God interprets His Own Word. He said He would do this thing in the last days. "There will be Light in the evening time." And there is Light, for the manifestation of the Son of God. The same sun that rises in the east is the same sun that sets in the west. The prophet said, "There will be a day that couldn't be called day nor night." It's a dismal, the clouds, as over the face of the sun. But said, "About evening time it shall come Light again." The same Son! He is Alpha and Omega. Same Son that rose in the east was predicted to rise in the west again, in the last days, just before the day was over. I don't know how they interpret It; God interprets His Own Word. He proves It. This is the evening time. It's sad, but she sure fell for it again. Christ's bride fell for it, and took the intellectual knowledge of some seminary preacher instead of believing the pure, vindicated Word of God.

Now let's take John or... Saint Luke 17:30, and watch what Jesus prophesied there, saying that, "As it was in the days of Sodom, it'll be the same..." Now remember, notice, this is at the time that the Son of man would be revealed; the revealing of the Son of man. Now, the Son of man was actually revealed potentially, just for a few moments there, just before Sodom was burned. Now, that Man was Elohim. That was God; and Jesus is God. And God was revealed potentially right there for a few moments, to talk to Abraham, in the investigation judgment. Just for a little bit, the Son of man was revealed; the Son of man, Elohim. Do you see it, church? [Congregation says, "Amen." — Ed.] The Son of man, Elohim, was revealed just for a few minutes. For, the very next morning she was burned, (when?) before the sun could come up again. So there can't be no organization left, neither can there be any further advancement than what's going right now, for she'll burn before the day breaks again. The revival is over, across the nation. There ain't going to be no more revivals, big sweeping revivals; this nation never receive it. You might have a intellectual gathering. But, I mean, a Spiritual revival, we've seen all of it. I hope you're catching it. I'm saying it in such a way that — that I hope you get it. See? It's over. A fine minister said, a while ago, said, "Brother Branham, if I could just have the joy of the Lord in my heart!" I said, "Son, the revival is over." See?

So we see the evening Light's here. And what does it do to have Light, if you don't have any eyes to see how to get around in It? What is the evening Light? The Light comes on, to reveal something. Is that right? If there's something here, you feel and you can't understand what it is, in the darkness, then turn a light on. It's to reveal! What's Malachi 4 to do? See? Do the same thing. What was the opening of the Seven Seals to do, where all these denominations staggering around in this...?... Is to reveal, bring out. If you haven't got any eyes, then what's the use to reveal? There has to be eyes, first, to see. Is that right? To reveal Malachi 4, reveal Saint Luke 17:30, Saint John 14:12, also John 15:24, 16:13. And to also reveal Revelations 10:1 to 7, the opening of the Seven Seals, and the seventh angel's Message; to open up, to reveal, when the evening Light's come. Now if a man...

Remember what, What Time Is It, Sir? How many ever heard it? Say, "Amen." [Congregation says, "Amen." — Ed.] Was it exactly right? ["Amen."] Then we've got the revelation in this last days, for the Message of the Lord God to gather His Bride together. No other age has it been promised. It's promised in this age: Malachi 4, Luke 17:30, Saint John 14:12, Joel 2:38. Those promises is just exactly like John the Baptist identified himself in the Scripture. Jesus identified Himself. What'd they say? "Away with such a person!" "John is a wild man." The church wasn't able to receive it. That's the pattern. Neither will the church receive it today. But, to the Elected, God is calling to the Elected. They know it: calling the virtuous Bride, the Word, the last-day Church, the elected Lady of our Lord Jesus Christ, Word. If... Jesus is the Word. How many believe that? [Congregation says, "Amen." — Ed.] All right. Then, the Bride is always part of the Bridegroom, so the Bride will not be a denomination. It'll have to be the Word, manifested, to be the Bride of Christ. He promised to do it. He said how He did. Never uses... loses His pattern. He always did it by the pattern. He done it, every time, by the pattern. He does it again, calling out His virtuous Bride in the last day, the lovely Rebekah waiting for Her Isaac. What a beautiful time! Here it brings into view, the two books that's going to be mysterious to you when you read the book of The Seven Church Ages. The two books: Book of Life, said, one says you can put your name on, you never comes off; other one says you take his name out of the Book of Life. This brings it perfectly in view, right here. I'm going to stop a few minutes, maybe, on a few notes here, and catch this before we close.

We all know that the church in that condition couldn't finish up this last day. How could it bring Malachi 4 in? How could it do it? They don't even believe in such a thing. How could it believe, bring in Luke 17:30? How could it bring in all these other Scriptures that's promised this last day? It couldn't do it, because it denies It. "As it was in the days of Lot, so shall it be in the Coming of the Son of man." Look at the condition, Lot, that Sodom was in, in that day. Look, condition the church of the day. Look what happened to Abraham, the Elected. Look what happened to Lot and them down in Sodom. Look at the Billy Graham and Oral Roberts, them down there amongst those denomination. Look at the elected Abraham Church, pulled out. Look what kind of sign, that Jesus Himself, the incarnated God standing there in human flesh. You say, "That was an Angel." The Bible said It was God. Lord God, Elohim, standing there in human flesh, showing that He would so anoint His Church in the last days. It'd be God working in human flesh again. "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be at the Coming of the Son of man." Same kind of a thing. They see it right there in the Scriptures. Read the... "Search the Scriptures, for in Them you think you have Eternal Life." And They are They that testify of This. See? See?

All right, now if that's so, also look at Malachi, the 4th chapter, and find out if this isn't promised today. How can you have faith in It? The Bible said so! Now you take Luke 17:30 and read it. Jesus said, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man. Just like it was at Sodom. Now, look at the position of the world today: Sodomites. Look at that Billy Graham and Oral Roberts, them two witnesses, down there witnessing to the denominational churches. One to the Methodist, Baptist, and Presbyterian; the other to the Pentecostals. This one, that one, and the other one. But remember, Abraham wasn't in Sodom, he was already called out. And there was One stayed and talked to him! And the One stayed and talked to him, showed him a sign. With His back turned, He said Sarah was going to have the baby that he had waited on. Amen. With His back turned. And he called It, "God, Elohim." Now, that brings to pass today, because we have faith. And I know this is of God, is because this and other Scriptures point to this hour. Revelation 10, said that "in the hour of the seventh angel's Message, when he begins to sound forth his Message," not in a healing service, but the Message that follows the healing service. Jesus went forth and preached; he said, "He healed the sick, and everything. O that young Rabbi, the Prophet, He's a great Fellow. We want Him in our church." But one day He stood up, said, "I and My Father are One." Oh, my. They didn't want Him no more then. Yeah. Oh! "Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His Blood!" He didn't explain It. Said, "Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His Blood, you have no Life in you." Why, I imagine, some doctors and nurses said, "This fellow's a vampire, trying to get us to drink his blood." See, they didn't understand It. He knowed it. But them disciples, they might not have been able to explained it, but they set there and believed It anyhow, amen, for It was revealed to them. Yes, sir. They knowed It, the Scriptures had declared It. It could be asked then to me, this that you might say, "Why do you have faith to believe in these visions, when — when there's so many false impersonations goes forth?" I'm going to speak a little something, strong, just for a minute now. When so many false impersonations are around, remember, my brother, they are also spoken of that they should be here at this same time. That's exactly, just as it was in the times of Moses. Moses went down to perform the works of God before the people, and there was Jambres and Jannes standing there. But who was first to do it? Then these other ones was impersonators, 'cause there had to be a original first for them to impersonate. If that had been the original... Uh-huh. Nah, we're not — we're not lost, we know where we're at. See? See, by the Scripture and by the revelation of God, that's why you still stand.

Now, He promised that, so that sets the Bible just exactly to this day, and the Sodom and Gomorrah. And Elijah was not... That wasn't Elijah; That was the Spirit of God on Elijah; Elijah was just a man. But it'll come through a prophet. Now, He never had two major prophets at the same time, never, in the world. See? No matter how much there's... two — two heads can't... It has to be one head. God has to get one man under His control. See? There's one God; there was Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, but one God over it all, notice, and just used them offices. So has He with Elijah, the Spirit of Elijah; He used that Spirit, but the same God controlling It all the time to fulfill His Word.

That's the way a genuine healing comes, when it's revealed to you that "He was wounded for your transgressions, bruised for your iniquity, and with His stripes you were healed." When it's inspired to you to see His Presence here, of Saint Mark 11... or Saint Luke 17:30, that He's going to reveal Hisself in the last days (among His people, in human flesh) like He did before Sodom. When you see that, and something strikes you! The doctor might say, "The cancer's still there." The patient might say, "I — I — I — I — I — I don't know how I'm going to walk, but I'm going to walk anyhow." We don't know how it's going to do.

Now it's begin to pull away, the wheat's begin to be seen. This is not a Pentecostal age. This is the latter-day age. This is the Bride age. This is the evening Light. This is when Malachi 4 must be fulfilled, to follow God's pattern. This is Luke 17:30, to be fulfill. This is the second... And Jeremiah, and all the rest of them, that Joel has spoke of these days, this is that day. "I have heard, Lord, and It was coming, but now I see It with my eye."
